I'm confused. Were these the Obama era immigration policies that the right used to say were too lenient? I can't figure out if the right is for or against child separations and overcrowded conditions.

I think everyone is against the overcrowding of migrants....on both sides of the aisle.

There's just a difference of opinion on how this should be achieved. The politicians on the left claim there's no way to legally or physically keep them out....so they are essentially arguing for letting them all in to stay.

The politicians on the right believe that mentality is exactly why so many keep coming here...so they look for solutions that involve keeping them out either physically or legally.

If the right succeeds, that would prove the left is wrong....so the left refuses to cooperate with the right on any attempts to keep them out of the nation. In order for the right to succeed though, they really need cooperation from the left....which isn't happening.

The result is inaction on both sides (or stifled action to be more accurate) and that inaction has led to the conditions that illegals face today when they cross our borders.

There was a vote for more funding for the crisis recently....and a number of politicians on the left split with the party and approved the funding. I like to think they did so out of the goodness of their hearts, and realized that when poor and vulnerable children's lives were affected by their votes....they decided it was a wrong time to play partisan politics. The establishment on the left was pretty unhappy about this.

Trump however, has tried to sidestep the entire stalemate by dealing directly with Mexico and allowing asylum seekers to apply for asylum once they cross....and await their hearings in detention centers in Mexico. I don't think it's the best solution....it doesn't fix our broken asylum process in the long term....but I think it stands a good chance of fixing this particular problem.

Not a shining moment, but keep in mind that the Trump Administration largely forbids anyone from taking photos.

Is that why AOC took photos of herself looking devastated in front of a fence to an empty parking lot?

But the claim that got the most attention, pushed by viral conspiracy and junk news websites, made unfounded accusations that the photographs of Ocasio-Cortez were fake and that she was actually crying over an empty parking lot. Russian state media outlet RTand ZeroHedge were among junk news sites taking a cue from Alex Jones’ InfoWarsnetwork in that regard. The latter posted an unfounded story on June 24, 2019, that posited the “empty parking lot” conspiracy theory.

(Also, she did not take photos of herself, they were taken by a photojournalist who didn't know who she was, since this was before her election.)

Glad ad hominem is still popular around these parts. I never went to any of those sites, I just saw the images where it wasn't a close up of her face. I was also aware it was a little over a year ago, but I don't believe the bull squeeze that they didn't know who she was at the time. :D

Your claim is not false because it came from InfoWars, it is false because we know who took the photographs and where they were taken.
