So some of you may know from some of my previous posts that I had lost my faith for about eight years. I regained it hallelujah... now to move on I was praying to god and also reminiscing about dreams that I had while I still had my faith one of them I was in where I could only describe as how our minds perceive as heaven I was clad in battle armor and was told by what looked like an angel that I was a warrior of god. I began praying about that dream and asked god if I could still be his warrior. I had a warm feeling on my shoulders that spread throughout my body which is now what I believe is the feeling of the holy spirit... anyway fastforward to work (I work at Walmart) one of my coworkers passed me by and said, "How's it going warrior?" I stopped dead in my tracks and asked him why he chose that word and he said that it just fitted and that's what we were warriors for Walmart. I laughed and walked away as my mind began to race he never called me warrior before no one ever calls anyone warrior. I guess I just want to ask what is a warrior of god? I feel I got confirmation that god wants me to be one what is it? I did some research and what it seemed to me is that it is people who spread god's word. It may be more... what do you guys think?

Warriors are trained people who fight wars, so if you're a warrior for God then it means you should be a trained soldier in God's army, by this I mean you should be a witness for Christ, spreading the word as the Holy Spirit deems fit. God bless

Another perspective to consider:

1 Peter 5:8-11
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 12:1-4
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

The word "race" in verse 1 is "agon" in the Greek (the origin of our word for agony)

Revelation 2:26-29

26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
28 And I will give him the morning star.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

The bible tells us that we "wrestle against principalities and powers", witnessing, or any God' given mission, is often a fight against spiritual powers. As an example when we go to witness, at times we may feel a fear arise, or feel uncomfortable. That is a spiritual power resisting God's word. God would have us learn to fight through our fears, and the difficulties associated with witnessing. Paul told Timothy, "you must endure hardship as a good soldier of God". God's perfect will for His warriors is that we learn to not fear man, but follow the leading of the Holy Spirit even when it feels uncomfortable. I have to admit that I am not at that point right now, I often chicken out when God would have me witness. I have not learned to fight as hard as I should. Sure I still witness, but not in all circumstances. Yet don't feel burdened, I feel that you are better described by scripture as "they will be as volunteers in the day of your power", meaning your heart is a volunteer heart looking to serve God. Use that joy, share joyfully, and hone the skills needed to down big foes.
