We've all heard the saying an apple keeps the doctor away. What about oatmeal everyday? (Instant oatmeal eater, still grateful! :grinning:)

Funny, I came across your post as I was sitting here eating breakfast, it's the same everyday, a bowl of oatmeal, a banana and a cup of orange juice.

Can't get much healthier than that for breakfast. I haven't been eating oatmeal for breakfast but as a early morning snack between breakfast and lunch. But funny on my part I do eat a banana in my Cornflakes usually every morning and not orange juice but an orange with my lunch. Close enough to say great minds think alike. :D

GMTA...Absolutely! LoL!

Nothing says "good morning" like a warm bowl of oatmeal. Whether it is cooked with milk or blended with fresh fruits, oats provide your body with many benefits.
8 Reasons You Should Eat Oatmeal for Breakfast
Normally eaten as porridge and as an ingredient in breakfast cereals and in baked goods (oatcakes, oat cookies and oat bread, oats have become a very popular "health food". If you are not eating oatmeal for breakfast, then you're missing out on a delicious opportunity to add fiber and nutrients to your body first thing in the morning.

1. You don't need to eat "first thing in the morning".
2. There are other foods that provide fiber and nutrients to your body.

You're welcome. :)

I'd think just about anyone would get very tired of oatmeal day after day, but I do eat it a couple of times a week at least.

I eat the same thing for breakfast every day (it's not oatmeal) and I never get tired of it.

Can you elaborate on not needing to eat first thing in the morning?

Thanks.

"First thing" implies eating upon rising or shortly after. I have no appetite for food until I have been active for a while. I generally rise at 7:30 and eat breakfast at 10:30. I like to 'earn' my breakfast.

The main problem with oatmeal is that it contains about 70 percent carbs, and more is usually added to make it palatable, usually in the form of sugar or syrup or fruits. This makes it a 'high glycemic index' meal which accounts for blood sugar ups and downs. It is also low in calories which are boosted by adding those sweeteners. It has but a small amount of protein and fat, which should be supplemented.

It may help a lot of people, as long as they are not allergic to anything in it, and as long as their wife makes it correctly and does not add poisin ?

"When you eat oatmeal everyday"...

you soon get sick of eating oatmeal.
Unless you don't
For over four years I enjoyed "the same" diet daily, with rare exception. It was the healthiest four years I've enjoyed!@
