It’s sad to see people laugh at children deliberately placed in inhumane conditions.

Those kids are in better conditions then their failed countries of origins. The concentration camp thing is a lie like "if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor".

Besides, had their parents been in America before they were conceived, they would have been far more likely to be aborted by the compassionate people at PP.

This is all drama queenery, fake outrage.

America IS great. Just look at all the people trying to get here. America IS great. You don't see people by the thousands trying to flee this country.

Is America perfect? Heck no. What country is? Has America ever been perfect? No, what country has? But we have provided for more freedom for people throughout our history than any other country. We have helped more countries than any other. Every single country on this planet has been formed by someone taking land from someone else. Every single country on this planet has been guilty of enslavement. Our sins are no worse than any other countries sins. What we have done though is worked through our failures on a continuing quest for freedom. A continuing quest to provide for opportunity to succeed. We have given and provided aid to everyone. We have helped billions of people across this globe.

America is great!

Wasting your breath friend. People who want to hate it will.
Of course they are not leaving her for the "better" countries.
Thanks

They are concentration camps, the fact they are trying to deny them basic needs like soap and toothbrushes is unconscionable. Those are the facts, screaming that it’s fake does not make it go away. Saying inhumane conditions are acceptable or “better than X” is not an excuse to support concentration camps.

The United States is not the greatest. It’s a great country among other great countries, but there are other countries that are better in measurable ways than the United States. Therefore, claims of being the greatest is misplaced.

But the current use of concentration camps definitely means the US is not the greatest.

Are they really "trying" to deny them the needs?
Is it really a "oh I've got a toothbrush right here in my pocket, but you can't have it!"

Or perhaps it's a "here's a fresh shipment is soap for these people. Send it back we are trying not to give them soap."

I quite frankly am not buying that. What I think it is mostly is a typical governmental botch job. They didn't appropriate enough money to care of the needs of those in the centers. They were ill prepared for the flood of people. I've been saying it for a long time now. We can't take all these people in. We are not prepared for it. With the huge deficits we run, we can't pull money out of thin air.

To call them concentration camps just weakens your argument. I've been to Dachau. The centers we have are NOTHING like Dachau. These are ill funded places to put people. We will get the money there. But it's a slower process than we'd like to see.

To say "this country is not great if it's not living up to its ideals" does not mean you "hate" your country. If I didn't expect better of this nation that I've called home for thirty-five years, I just wouldn't care.

I fight against concentration camps and Donny Trump's petty tyranny not in spite of being a patriot, but because I am a patriot. Whatever way he wants to steer this country (to the extent that he even cares about anything other than himself and his bank account) does not represent what's best for this country, its ideals, its Constitution, or its people. I'll never apologize for fighting for a better America - not just an America where white people feel better because those people are being hurt.

Yes.

Or perhaps it's a "here's a fresh shipment is soap for these people. Send it back we are trying not to give them soap."

Even if that was the case, how would it make the CBP look good by acting this way?

Funding is not an excuse for cruelty, but a government that doesn't care about people is a government that is not well run, regardless of who is in office.

They're concentration camps because they fit the definition.

Granted the claim is subjective... and I am a bit biased.

1. I live here.
2. I read history and the newspapers.
3. Many many people hold the same opinion.
4. Everywhere else in the world I have been, well, was not quite so great.
5. Nobody is leaving here for there.
6. Everybody from there wants to come here.
7. Whenever someone needs or wants help, they call on us.
7a. Whenever Europe decides to have another ethic or nationalistic war...who do they call?
8. Whenever we need help... we are pretty much on our own.
9. As they say, “when America sneezes, the world catches a cold.” Economically we are #1.
10. Besides, who else has played golf on the moon?

Name a country that is better. Prove it.
Shiloh did in the post right above yours. And your list isn’t factual. Europeans aren’t emigrating here, they prefer Europe, and Americans move to other countries all the time.

Workers are a part of the system people use when they create wealth. If the wealth actually came from the workers, they would be in a position to get the lion's share of it.
No they don't. Name a major corporation where union members get the lion's share of the wealth created by the company. Union members on average can negotiate a little more pay than non union members, but nobody gets rich by joining a Union.

Fair enough, but your argument is basically anecdotal. I suggest that a look at the big picture data would show the USA is somewhere in the middle of the pack (among advanced democracies).
Are you comparing apples to apples? Or apples to oranges. Are you comparing the Black people in America to black people in other nations? Are you comparing the White people in America to the white people in other Nations? Or are you comparing the entirety of countries with 99% white people to the entirety of America's diverse population. How are you comparing America to other countries?

All of those things apply in most of Europe as well, except there is even less poverty and the water is cleaner. (There are places in the U.S. where the water is poisonous!)

Again, where do ppl get the idea that we are the only country with these things?

I think you missed the whole point I was making about patriotism being subjective. it's kind of like I have the most beautiful children and wife on the entire Earth. You protect what you love and you love what you respect. And of course that's subjective to my own opinion but there's no one that can convince me otherwise. My wife is the most beautiful creature ever created by God and I love her dearly. Even my family, with all their flaws are perfect. I think we live in such a disposable society where we throw away everything searching for something new and by doing so we completely forsake everything that we have.

Unionized employees’ wages and benefits at the top three food service countries in the world, and at the largest two hotel companies in the world easily account for the lion’s share of the wealth created by those businesses. Striking Marriott workers brought the company to their knees recently and won BIG.

Are the employees the majority shareholders of those corporations?
