The border needs to be secured, or you'll continue to have even more illegals and the children the bring with them crossing over the border. Back to my analogy about the broken water pipe, it's like saying we need more mops and buckets because the water keeps coming in. Doesn't it make sense to you that the source of the influx of people crossing illegally is going to continue, and even grow, if it's not stopped?

Kids ability to get food and diapers is not in any way related to border funding, Trump could most certainly get those kids immediate relief. You’re just reinforcing the idea that these kids are being used as pawns by the trump administration - approve border funding and I’ll let the kids have food and diapers, huh?

Now you're just twisting my words at the expense of your own credibility. I've been saying all along that if the border was secured, those kids and the people who bring them over wouldn't even be here at all. They'd be back in their own home country and in their own homes instead of overcrowded facilities that weren't designed to hold entire caravans of people who were somehow convinced that America was a welfare state.
Your arguments are just parroting those made by people who want to eliminate our borders. Why not find out the truth about what's really going on? Hispanic pastors tour border facility lambasted by AOC and say they are ‘shocked by misinformation’

1. I live here.
2. I read history and the newspapers.
3. Many many people hold the same opinion.
4. Everywhere else in the world I have been, well, was not quite so great.
5. Nobody is leaving here for there.
6. Everybody from there wants to come here.
7. Whenever someone needs or wants help, they call on us.
7a. Whenever Europe decides to have another ethic or nationalistic war...who do they call?

9. As they say, “when America sneezes, the world catches a cold.” Economically we are #1.

The funny thing about this list is that it keeps referring to the post-war US where the ranking of the US as the greatest was quite arguable. However, sitting on past laurels doesn’t change the fact that this is not the post-war world.

There are plenty of countries that rank higher based on widely accepted sets of criteria such as access to health care, longevity, freedom of speech, infant mortality, access to education etc. On my phone now, will provide more details later.
