John as he was looking at Christ said.. behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. Christ already died. There is no limit to His forgiveness.

There are times.. we get stuck in sin. He is still there. ALWAYS run to Him. He will help. Just repent.. keep going. Try not to sin. Sin is the enemys way of doing things in our lifes.. so always repent. Tell Him.. what you said here. He will give you a peace

And KNOW THIS..GOD NEVER EVER EVER makes you feel guilty. He does not judge you.. does not condemn you. His mercy is on you.. forever. HE is not like man.. He loves you.. He is for you.. not against you. There is now no condemnation to them in Christ Jesus. KNOW He loves you SO MUCH! The JOY of the lord IS your strength. DON'T let the enemy rob you of this love.. this forgiveness..

And KNOW if you confess your sin HE IS FAITHFUL to forgive and cleans you from all unrighteousness. So dont let the enemy keep reminding you of something HE already forgave :) He is with you FOREVER! He loves you..not like any person on this earth

God is pretty forgiving, the main question that comes to mind for me is, how much corrosion can the soul take? Sexual immorality is identified in the scripture as a sin that destroys the soul.

So instead of the guilt, addiction cycle thought paradigm, I like to think of it in terms of God's compassion towards us regarding something we do that destroys us inside.

Say you had a daughter, who did a lot of drugs that destroyed her body, eventually her body brought to the grave from it, but you never stopped loving her.

I'd say God's view is similar, but what to do if the soul is destroyed?

Yes, the problem is not God but how sin affects your soul and body.

Infinite times as long as you repent and pick yourself up and trying to be pure again.

When you stop... when you repent, and stop.... G-d will forgive you.

Stop. Turn away from whatever you are doing that is wrong.

I can’t even describe the horrible vile sexual immorality I came out of. Was in it even after I had come to know Jesus. But I kept trying on my own. Same with trying to quit smoking/vaping. I failed. My flesh won. Over and over and over.
I had to first realize, not just in my mind but in the depths of my spirit, that the same Spirit that raised Jesus was to be dwelling in me. That this Spirit is the Spirit of God and He is powerful. It is the Spirit of Jesus. And I know I can’t do anything because of my flesh, but with Christ I can do all things including walking away from the sins that were destroying me physically and mentally.

Fill your mind with the words of God. Keep worship music going. Be in prayer. Find preachers/teachers you enjoy and watch/listen to their stuff. Fill your time with all things God and stay strong. Get to where you are craving that time in scripture or prayer more than anything.

Am I saying it’s easy? Nope
Am I saying after one day you won’t sin? Nope
I’m saying surrender to Him and let Him start to work in you and it will get easier and one day you can respond to someone letting them know that getting past there sins are possible. And it’s more worthy it than you can imagine!!! There is so much freedom in Christ!

Which is greater?:

1.) Your ability to sin.
2.) God's ability to forgive.

I am going to be brutally honest with you. It really depends what the sin is. Some sins we can give to much weight to, i.e. we can think God is heavy on us when he is not. I am going to lay down some guidelines based upon the bible and what I would call experience.

Sexual guide lines:

If your sin is masturbation, yes it is a deviation from God's best, but few men really, Christian, or not, ever really over come it. In my opinion, God will not judge you for it. The pressure that builds up in a man sexually has a release valve, and whether this occurs through masturbation, or a wet dream it will occur.

inappropriate contentography - should be avoided at all costs, the bible tells us that when we "look at a woman to lust for her, we are committing the act in our hearts". Practice purity in this area. I know you may find yourself thinking of a woman when Masturbating, it is likely, but still avoid the use of inappropriate content, the whole industry is full of sin.

Actual sexual sin - having sex outside of marriage, again must be avoided at all costs.

Sorry for the graphic content, but I hope it helps.

I have been praying for you, jags, since the last time I saw your post asking for prayers. Whether you enjoy a thought or not if it is something you know you should not think or dwell on then avoid it. If you see a beautiful woman, that is not a sin, beauty stands out and catches our attention. But if you are committed to someone and you look at her again and again, then you are slipping into it. If you start to have lustful thoughts even if you believe you are not enjoying it, it is still a sin according to Jesus and it will be recorded in your mind and it will be replayed at some point in the future. So, the practical way is to nip it in the bud, and sometimes you can do it with will power but almost always you need the Holy Spirit. Did you get a chance to check out the resource I recommended last time? Here it is again. Get the book Every Man’s Battle by Stephen Arterburn. They also have a radio program at this link New Life where you can call in and ask for more specific advice.

The standard of the Lord:
Luk3 17:3-4 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
1John 1:9 If we confess [own] our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

But take heed, the Lord knows them that are sincere toward Him, and those that are not: there is no playing games with God.

It is not a sin to have a bad thought, every body will have a bad thought. It is what we do with the thought that matters. We should try to reject, or push out of our mind any bad thought. A thought is like a seed, if we continue to think on it it will grow into a plant, then it will bear fruit. If we up route the plant, pull it out of our thinking, we will not be led to sin.

It is not sin to have a thought, a seed that draws us to think about a sin.
Sin would be to allow our desire to control us. The bible says:

1Co 6:12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.

As a Christian, you are not judged for your thinking, actions etc, while you remain in faith, and try not to sin, God does not judge you. But not every thing is helpful, and we should not be dominated by anything. Sin dominates us if we allow it, the bible says although you are not judged, you should not allow sin to dominate you.

It does not matter if you are bombarded 1000 times a day with sinful thoughts, as long as each time the thought arises you cast it down, and push it from you. It is not sinful to have thoughts it is sinful to keep them and desire them.

I'v been wondering about this question for a bit now because i'm suffering from this sin and want to stop committing this sin i feel guilt sometimes when doing this sin i'm mainly wondering how much times will he forgive me for this sin?

Hey Jags,

First I want to make you aware you are not alone. When I was struggling with my sexual sin, I was researching about it many years back. I found a support forum for it, and I began to read a very long forum post. People were praying for those struggling and encouraging each other as they struggled. It blew my mind away about it. Once I was done reading I backed up to see where this post came from. It was a post from the Women's forum for those struggling with sexual sin on this website. How I first found this website.

We are fallen creatures in a fallen world. Everywhere you go there is some image, sex scene, or some talk about it. It influences you to follow on those urges. I had to reeducated myself about sex and how it was originally intended. I won't lie to you it's a fight to stay clean and level minded.

My Lord didn't snap a finger and I was free from the thoughts and urges. Instead Jesus got in the trenches with me and help me to learn how to fight it. Today I am happily married, but it never fully goes away until we leave this earth.

When I first started my journey my step Dad came up to me and said I needed to read a verse. It was 2 Chronicles 7:14.

"if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." ESV

Fully context is Solomon created the temple for God of Israel as he was instructed. They do a massive dedication to the temple before God and he accepts their sacrifices. That night he talks to Solomon in a dream. Part of the conversation was him explaining that when the people sin and God starts to punish that sin. The temple is the place where he hear his people when they humble themselves and seek to change from their ways.

What I want to impress on you is the part where he says "seek my face". Right now you don't "know" God that well. Search the scriptures, get to know the great I AM, the creator of Heaven and Earth. Learn who he is and what is important to him. When you get to know who he is, you can better understand why he is willing to forgive you enough times for you to overcome your sin WITH him!

Article on your question: Will God continue to forgive you if you commit the same sin over and over again?
