Donald Trump Jr. shared a racist tweet about Kamala Harris and then deleted it after it went viral, fanning the flames of a new 'birther' conspiracy
Donald Trump Jr., the president's eldest son and outspoken defender, fanned the flames of a racist conspiracy by sharing a tweet falsely claiming that Sen. Kamala Harris isn't a black American.

The tweet that Trump Jr. promoted suggested that Harris, who was born in Oakland, California to an Indian immigrant mother and a black Jamaican immigrant father, isn't black enough to be an authority on issues of race.

Most people of African descent in the Americas and the Caribbean are the descendant of slaves. Only ignorant racists try to divide people from the African diaspora.

Also, CBS tells us why he deleted his tweet in this commentary

“Folks were misconstruing the intent if his tweet”, is why he deleted the tweet, what was his intent?
The statement never says.
Huh.

This article here

Kamala Harris's father slams her for "fraudulently stereotyping" Jamaicans, says comments about pot were a "travesty"

States, "Her mother, who died in 2009 from cancer at age 70, was Tamil Indian, and her father is Jamaican."
What does this have to do with suggesting that she is not black or that she is not black enough? This is the same old racism we saw back when Barack Obama was running and they made jokes about him being a "halfrican." People of African descent, born in America, are African American, they are are American black.

You would have to ask him, or look on line to see if its answered better elsewhere. The first post said he deleted it when it went viral and CBS adds that he deleted it when he saw that folks were misconstruing the intent if his tweet. Most likely turning it into a birther issue and running with that narrative when its possible or more likely (just as Warren did) trying to get ahead in this identity politics age by putting herself out there as something she was not. And given the reparations issue being pushed one of those could play into why he brought it to light. Trump Jr usually comes out and says something later so maybe he will further clarify his intent. The two of them have been gone back and forth before.

She wants reparations for blacks, should she receive what she would vote for, if her family owned slaves? Wouldn't her family in a case like that (even though black in color) have to pay the same?

Do you know that many African Americans have European blood in their background, many from slave owners? That does not qualify as "my family owned slaves." The raping of enslaved people does not mean "your family used to own slaves." Such a suggestion is despicable and makes light of rape, particularly the rape of African women by slave owners.

Have blacks sold blacks?

Which blood you tracing?

Okay so God hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation

Okay, so blacks sold other blacks to Europeans some of which raped women black slaves who gave birth to Jamaican babies and indian babies who also own slaves, and want reparations.

You mentioned her family owned slaves, referring to a slave owning ancestor, Hamilton Brown. Still trying to move those goal posts around? Why don't you try to stay on topic? Donald Trump Jr is making the racist argument that Kamala Harris is not American Black. She is a American Black and no amount of racist tweets will change that.

Referring to "black selling blacks" and then referring to Europeans speaks to the racial language of our history that would differentiate Europeans, but considers all Africans as the same. Nonetheless, please stay on topic.

The article mentions the family owned slaves, I don't know her family how do I know? Not moving anything. Your article speaks of his deleting his tweet CBS says he did so because it misconstrued what his intent was. There was nothing further (yet). Seeing identity politics is big with leftists right now, and also how reparations on the table (something she would vote for). And his tweet being diverted into the birther arena its likely the very thing his tweet is being misconstrued into when he might have been calling her out on other issues.

I'm off your thread altogether, I do get bored easily (I do think I have ADHD) so have fun with all the blood line /genealogy/ skin colors stuff.

You are quoting a white supremacist when saying "her family owned slaves." If you'd like, you can keep quoting white supremacists and arguing as if they are valid comments, by all means. You also conveniently leave the fact that this white supremacist was arguing that Kamala Harris is not black. Claiming ADHD when you keep promoting the statements of a white supremacist (the only one person mentioning slave owning in the OP) is a poor attempt at a cop out. You and Donald Trump Jr both amplified the claims of a white supremacist and then retreat when the inherent racism of denying someone's African heritage is exposed.

Being Whiter than White myself, I can say that my White brothers and Sisters often seem to play the “Guess the Color Game”. Mostly harmless but it can get ugly in talking politics, etc.

Not exactly - CBS reported that his spokesman gave that explanation. It may or may not be true.

And we know it's not true. The sadder part is he gets his inspiration from white supremacists and people on this forum used the same tweet from a white supremacists to attack Kamala Harris as "not black enough."

Plausible deniability - prove his intent. I know - the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree & by their fruits shall you know them.
