I have grown rather fond of Pureflix. Some real sleeper movies on there that have fantastic plots and story lines but not the big financial backing to make it anywhere. Some great old time classic TV shows also. Well worth the $99 a year I pay for it. I watch Pureflix via an app on my Apple TV box. Nothing currently on regular TV nowadays that I have any interest in.

I would just opt out and stick with satellite TV. That, or pay for a service for a month or two, then drop it and pay for a different service.

If it really gets that fragmented, it's entirely pointless to keep any subscription for long.

IMO, it's already too fragmented. I already have subscriptions to Prime, Hulu, and Comcast (which includes HBO), and a "borrowed" Netflix account. Then the premium channels can be added on top of any of those, so if I want to watch something on, say, Starz, I have to remember which of those we added Starz onto....

As for the Office, I haven't seen a streaming app from a network (cable or broadcast) that wasn't a total dumpster fire. I love Battlebots (anybody who hasn't seen that seriously needs to), and when ABC had it, their app was trash. Now that Discovery has it, their app is trash, too, though thankfully it's mostly the ads that get crushed and not the show. We also watch Top Chef and the Bravo app is easily the worst of the bunch - the audio and video get so far out of sync, my wife will sometimes think she's watching b-roll. I seem to recall CBS being kind of okay, except that their shows all suck.

That's what I do as well. I have Hulu, Netflix, and Prime. I also pay extra for PBS through Prime.

So the content owners who got greedy will be the first to complain when piracy goes back up, as people will be - surprise, surprise - not willing to shell out $100/month on 10 different streaming services and still miss some shows they want.

Thank goodness for free to air TV

Capitalism.txt : balkanizing content in order to compel people to pay out of the nose for subscription fees.

This is one reason why I still use physical media, despite all the Internet talk about it being dead. I can watch any episode of Star Trek or MASH anytime I wish, without having to rely on an Internet connection or paying twenty-seven different fees to five different companies to get there.

I never used these Netflix, Hulu, or other services myself.
Not much on nowadays that doesn't have SJW or LGBT stuff written into them. I hadn't watched TV for over a decade till 2016 and even now I just tune into one news show. My husband who is a real TV buff has lost interest in watching TV. He is a big football fan, never thought I'd see the day he'd ever cancel the NFL package, but it became too political. We just have satellite, I'll watch a handful of channels on youtube, but as youtube censors I was just looking into packages at websites but I would never pay for anything mainstream again. I can live without TV, I'm glad my husband is outside the online community, I wouldn't want to be paying for all of that.

This is more like having a tons of different mobile phone operators. Just pick a contract you feel most cost effective at the time then switch it after you feel it has run it`s course.

If you are watching enough TV that this feels like a problem maybe it might be time for another hobby as well.
