Hello, what is the LCMS view of the end times? I understand they are amillenial but what do they expect to happen between now and the Lord's return? Where do they see Israel in prophecy? I'm looking for a fuller understanding of what to expect from here on out.

The LCMS has a document (61 pages!) on this exact topic. I have not read it personally, but I imagine your answers are in it. The LCMS website has it as a PDF HERE (clicking will download the PDF from their website).

Honestly many Lutherans are not really concerned with the "end times" it is not a focus of the church or our mission. It is refreshing among evangelical churches and one of the reasons I am in this church.

I don't know if it helps at all, but when I came out of the charismatic church a number of years ago, my next crunch came when I ran headlong into the tangled web of dispensationalism. I was in utter confusion at that time, and I ended up coming across a book written by Dr. Kim Riddlebarger (a co host of White Horse Inn), which was making a case for amillenialism. Virtually overnight much of the confusion I had been plagued with from dispensational theology (which strangely enough I didn't even know that was what it was at the time!), just simply evaporated when I embraced amillenial eschatology.

Since then, Riddlebarger has done a series of lectures called Amillenialism 101, which are based on the structure of his book, and are freely available to listen or download from his website/blog. Just visit the following site (Riddleblog - The Latest Post) and look about 1/2 way down the right hand sidebar to find the lectures. They are really well worth a listen, especially when you're asking the sort of questions you have above.

By the way, Riddlebarger is Reformed not Lutheran, but hey ho, we can't all be perfect can we?! ^_^
