If it was in international airspace, squeeze them more with sanctions. If the drone was in Iranian airspace, tough luck.

A religious agenda that considers the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem the third holiest site. Do you really think they would destroy the third holiest site in their religion just to spite their enemy? They may sabre rattle but there is no way they would nuke Israel if given the means. They would end up destroying a major piece of Islamic history, killing roughly 1.5 million Muslims along with causing their own death by the hands of nuclear weapons from the international community. Not a chance this happens.

Their religious agenda doesn't call for a third holiest site.

There were crusades sent and people died to have control of this site. But since you seem such an expert on it, what is their religious agenda where the basic preservation of a holy site, 1.5 million of their fellow believers, and their own lives are of no concern of theirs?

It has to do with eschatology. To bring back the 12th Imam as the Mahdi. They believe the Mahdi will return during a time of great grief towards them. Nuking Israel will create such a time.

Remember when you didn’t have a car and vowed that you’d always give people rides when asked, after you got one?
How’d that work out?

Are innocent people in America dying because of Iran? No. All I see, is when a Republicans are elected. It's time to start another war. Anyways American needs to give Iran their money back. Or they have every right to go to war with America.

Why are you making this about Democrats and Republicans?

Obama's administration started the war in Yemen, dropped over 100k bombs, and sold more weapons than Bush, even to nations their own State department designated as repressive regimes. Peace Prize aside, I wouldn't call that dovish. The structure is pushing us to war, regardless which party is in power.

Obama ramped up the use of contractors, special forces and drone strikes. There were less US servicemen casualties, but still plenty of war.

Both Obama and Trump came into office talking about less war. But that is not what the establishment interests have in mind.

Not Trump in particular. People above the president's pay grade have been pushing for a war with Iran for the last three administrations. Trump is merely the one weakest enough to follow their instructions.

Yet he didn't, and now he's being called "weak" by the media for not following what his advisors told him he should do. If he had proceeded with the attack, then what? He'd be called a warmonger and out of control and eager to start a war and kill people over an unmanned drone.

Who is calling him weak, for calling off strike?

Getting pushed around by Israel and USA is a great grief to them and they don’t need to kill 1.6 million of their Muslim brothers and sisters to do it. Also they wouldn’t need to give up their earthly power either which is what you are suggesting they will throw it away.

Like how Christians are excited to go to heaven but aren’t killing themselves to get there. You can talk about wanting to bring the end of the world but self-preservation has a tendency to override the apocalyptic impulse.

That makes no sense.
It means that so long as Iran doesn’t have nuclear weapons they’ll vow to “wipe Israel off the face of the earth”; but once they do manage to build them, this rhetoric will fall by the way.

We have a government that has said when they get one they will use it.

Over the course of all the missions flown, some probably were, some probably weren't. That one might have been in Iran's territory (including water) when the launch order was given and on its way out at the moment it was struck.

Second the citation request. Also even if they did say something like that how much has Trump saying fire and fury, annihilation, you will be reaally sorry actually done anything because it is kind of risky for governments to go to war : especially since Iran would lose. Long way from rhetoric to a war.

That makes about as much sense as US launching nukes to Beijing, Moscow, London, Jerusalem, Islamabad, New Delhi and Paris with almost totally predominantly Christian congress thinking it will bring Jesus back.

Rhetoric. Ayatollah is just as keen to suicide his country as those fat senators in US congress are to lose their priviledges.

Just saying.

If you agree with me or not doesn't matter.
