BTILC is my absolute favorite Carpenter flick, and only an idiot would hate Starman!!

Well hello and welcome to (posting in) CF and to TAW!

Glad you came out of hiding. :)

I probably don't fit well with the regular fan base - my favorites are Big Trouble in Little China and Starman.

But it's nice to be able to greet you. :) I hope we will see more posting from you!

Well he's usually more associated with the horror genre? Or maybe that's your joke? I confess I thought maybe I didn't QUITE get it (unless someone is confusing Mike Myers with Freddy Kruger?)

The meme shows George Romero, the creator of the “Dead” zombie films back in the day, yet it mentions Wes Craven’s work and obviously you get the Carpenter reference! It’s makibg a joke out of confusing the directors.

Yeah that's all I could get that was funny. I admit I'm TERRIBLE with faces except a very few actors. I pretty much just focused on the name and film name.

Dontcha hate when you have to explain a joke? Yeah, I can be "one of those people". I thought I was missing something more. :D

I had no idea that the photo wasn't John Carpenter. I only knew that he hadn't done the Freddy Kruger series. I still had to look up who did later on, but I'm afraid I've never really paid attention to who did what. My family always sits through the credits to see if we can spot any Greek names among the film crew, but that's about it.

Yeah I don't pay much attention to directors either, except for ones I can't seem to miss like Spielberg.

That's funny - I have often scanned for various kinds of ethnic names (since I have different affiliations) in the credits. That's the only attention I have paid them either. (Unless I notice unusual jobs associated with a film.)

Oy... I never ever even watched credits, not even when they have Easter eggs and the such... I donno, don't have the time.

Btw, anyone else watches YouTube videos at 1.5x or listens to Audible at 2x etc or am I the only madman? There's just not enough time to go around.

Growing up I loved Romero, Carpenter, Coscarelli, all those cats. I’m a big movie buff. Carpenter is my boy. I cherish his autograph. Great to fans. Amazing producer, director, writer, musician. He does his own music in all his flicks.

Haha I have rarely, when I have a limited slot of time and really want to watch something.

I guess I don't really find so many things to watch that I'm short of time. I'm more likely to rewatch shows I like. I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th time through Star Trek TNG right now, while I'm waiting for DVDs to arrive to watch This Is Us for the first time. (I only just discovered it and don't watch it as it airs on network.)

The good thing is that I don't mind being distracted if I'm watching something I'm already familiar with.

Too many shows and movies are just trash these days, and it's hard to find many I appreciate.

That was my reaction as well - but the way that the young folk move about nowadays you can really appreciate that cartoon

true, it reminds me of the dwarves at the end of Lewis' Last Battle.
