HI all,

I answered in another thread about how the current situation between the U.S. and Iran all seems to be some drama instigated by our wonderful and faithful LIC. He's pushed Iran's nose into the dirt and twisted it around a little bit and punched them a couple of times just because that's what gets his blood pumping in the morning. He loves chaos!!!!

Now, we've had four ships to be attacked, which he is blaming on Iran, but claims it's just a 'little thing'. They apparently have downed one of our drones, which they fully admit that they did and claim that it was flying over their airspace. His response to that is that it was a mistake and they really didn't mean to. Is this man for real????

He goes and gets the fur flying in a urinating contest and then when there are signs of retaliation, he just blows it all off. Really, that's what most Republicans think is solid national leadership?

God bless,
In Christ, ted

Was there an update from the Defense morning brief where the US 'admits' to the drone downed in Iran? The report from the defense dept was that the drone was downed in international airspace. Probably why Iran does not have the wreckage of the drone on their state TV network like they did when one drone was downed in Iran when Obama was president. But that drone was probably carrying Euros and US Dollars. ;)

Similarly, Iran claimed the U.S. drone on Thursday was over Iranian airspace when it was shot down -- but American officials stated unequivocally the incident occurred in international airspace. U.S. Central Command said in a statement that a U.S. Navy Broad Area Maritime Surveillance ISR aircraft, known as a BAMS-D, was shot down at approximately 7:35 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Trump says Iranian shootdown of US military drone may have been a 'mistake'

Hi rlh,

I'm not arguing the point that the drone may or may not have been over Iranian airspace. I'm arguing why our president goes to such lengths to start all of this turmoil, but then makes excuses for everything that is done, seemingly in retaliation.

Why he would say, concerning four maritime attacks, that it's just some 'little thing'. Why he would see this drone shoot down, no matter where it was, and say that he just can't believe that Iran would do such a thing, it must be a mistake.

He's being meaner to China, who hasn't blown up any ships or destroyed a single piece of military equipment, than he's being to Iran. What's the end game here? What's his purpose in all of this?

God bless,
In Christ, ted

This is all for the benefit of a small rogue nation at the east end of the Mediterranean sea which wants to bring Iran down, but can't afford the lives lost. The US of A can be tricked into anything, however.

Hi LS,

I'm curious what the name of that small rogue nation might be?

What did the president do to start 'turmoil?'

Hi rlh,

Yes, I did make mention that Iran had said that the drone was over their airspace because that was in the article. However, the claim now that it wasn't, makes President Trump's response even more baffling. If it wasn't over their airspace, then they really had no right to shoot it down and I think any other nation would consider that an act of aggression. Not, oh, I can't believe they'd do that...it must be some kind of mistake.

I'm sorry and I know there are a lot of his supporters on these threads, but the man just seems a total moron to me.

Hi Ted, I get it you don't like Trump so everything he does must be scrutinized a few levels higher than other leaders. Truly there is no issue with that, it is your standard.

But take a look. You accused the president of creating 'turmoil' yet when a terrorist sponsoring nation downs our drone in international airspace, and the president shows some restraint, you question his motives. I guess the guy just can't win can he? What the president did was give Iran 'an out' if they wanted one, he was being the adult in the room knowing the Iranians fabricated the photo and knows their claim the drone was in Iranian airspace was false.

Our European allies have been appealing for restraint, diplomacy and cooler heads prevailing. Trump actually does this and now he is to be questioned.

Frankly, if I was in his position all the military installations in the vicinity of Bandar Abbas would be in flames right now.

You cant start a war because of an unmanned drone being shot down for goodness sake!
I agree and that is the position the president is taking.

What did the president do to start 'turmoil?'

Hi rlh,

He reneged on an ongoing agreement, just as he's done with so very, very many others. Nafta, climate accord and many others. He's threatened to renege on every other international agreement that we have with other nations. He came into office claiming that everything that everyone before him ever did was wrong and he was going to fix it. That all started with him trying to destroy our healthcare law. Then he pulled out of Nafta. Then he pulled out of the climate accord. Here, I don't have enough time to list them all for you: Here are all the treaties and agreements Trump has abandoned - CNNPolitics

Just recently he pulled us out of a perfectly good agreement between Iran and several European nations and began putting the screws to Iran. All in direct defiance of what the JCPA had established. With virtually no warning or opportunity for Iran or anyone else to negotiate. All evidence offered by the other participating member nations is that Iran was doing what Iran was supposed to be doing as far as the JCPA was concerned.

So, here is the President of United States, reneging on a negotiated agreement and immediately making life for a nation of people practically unbearable. Yea, you're right, that's not gonna cause any turmoil. And now, what's the end game? Why did he do all this? What is his purpose? He claimed, at the time, that the JCPA was defective at its core. Trust me or not, the 'core' that Donald Trump found defective, was the name President Barack Obama on the signature line.

God bless,
In Christ, ted

Hi rlh,

I get it you don't like Trump so everything he does must be scrutinized a few levels higher than other leaders.

Well, I'll freely give you that I'm not a fan of Donald Trump. Never have been and it's got little do to with the job title he holds today. Donald Trump, in my estimation, has always been a cheat, a thief and a liar. I'm not in agreement that I'm scrutinizing him a few levels higher than other leaders. I'm fairly sure that had any other leader been as arrogant, boorish, and outright mean as Donald Trump, I'd have complained in the same manner.

If President Obama had the habit of referring to those he didn't get along with by calling them some name like an out of control kindergarten child, I would have been just as upset about that. If President Bush had to his credit even half of the supposed lies and half truths that are being laid on Donald Trump, I'd have been upset with him to. So, just between you and me and the lamppost, I don't think you're correct in your assessment of my understanding and dislike for Donald Trump.

God bless,
In Christ, ted
