God is not the author of confusion but of peace.
God is not in the business of fishing for answers but in speaking the truth in love.
And if Scripture isn't enough, then what else are you depending on? Man's wisdom or logic or reasoning?
John 6:56-69 Whoever feeds on my flesh & drinks my blood abides in me & I in him. As the living Father sent me & I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate & died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” Jesus said these things in the synagogue, as he taught at Capernaum.
60When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?” But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, “Do you take offense at this? Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit & life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe & who it was who would betray him.) And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”
66After this many of his disciples turned back & no longer walked with him. So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, TO WHO WILL WE GO? YOU HAVE THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE & we have believed AND have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”
I Cor 15:1-11 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the GOSPEL I PREACHED TO YOU, which you RECEIVED, in which you STAND & by which you are BEING SAVED, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—UNLESS you believed IN VAIN. For I delivered to you as of FIRST IMPORTANCE what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,
4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures & that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.
6Then he appeared to more than 500 brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.
7Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.
8Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.
9For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am & his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. Whether then it was I or they, so we preach & so you believed.
Romans 10:1-17 Brothers, my heart’s desire & prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but NOT according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, & seeking to establish THEIR OWN, they did not SUBMIT to God’s righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
5For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) “or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth & in your heart” (that is, the WORD OF FAITH that we proclaim); because, if you CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH THAT JESUS IS LORD & BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU WILL BE SAVED.
10For with the heart one believes & is justified & with the mouth one confesses & is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who CALL ON HIM.
13For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?
c And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
15And how are they to preach unless they are sent?
As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?”
17So faith comes BY hearing & hearing BY THE WORD OF GOD.
