It's important to understand the difference between an internment camp (or concentration camp) and a death camp.

From the lead of the wikipedia article on internment:

Internment is the imprisonment of people, commonly in large groups, without charges or intent to file charges, and thus no trial. The term is especially used for the confinement "of enemy citizens in wartime or of terrorism suspects".

Internment - Wikipedia

Some aspects of the migrant detention camps do seem to fit the internment camp definition.

Andrea Pitzer, author of One Long Night: A Global History of Concentration Camps, has a more global definition. There have been concentration camps in France, South Africa, Cuba, the Soviet Union, and—with Japanese internment—the United States. In fact, she contends we are operating such a system right now in response to a very real spike in arrivals at our southern border.

“We have what I would call a concentration camp system,” Pitzer says, “and the definition of that in my book is, mass detention of civilians without trial.”

Regardless of terminology, the fact that Americans cheer on keeping people in cages, applaud family separation, and demonize people seeking asylum, suggests they probably need to reflect a little more. Cheering on misery is not a good look, and history shows you are usually with the wrong crowd. I have yet to see people rounded up and put into camps, detention centers or whatever euphemism for targeting an ethnic group, and the people supporting that not being ultimately categorized as evil in history.

It used to be that asylees would come into our country and ask for asylum and then go to be with relatives or friends already here, while awaiting for their case to be adjudicated.
This “catch & release” policy was nixed by the current Resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, so, now ALL asylees are sent to detention camps, instead of being “at large”.

Gotta love right-wing tokenism and the people like Owens who embrace it. Considering this woman has minimized slavery and the Civil Rights Movement, inaccurate pictures like this are slap in the face to the African Americans who really sacrificed their lives for civil rights in the US.

I don't think so at all, I would encourage folks to tune into some of her talks and see for themselves.

When a person suggests that a time when more than 50% of African Americans living in poverty with de jure segregation was better than the current landscape, they are patently ignorant and haphazardly foolish at best. She doesn't argue facts, she echoes racist talking points that appeal to her audience under the guise that a black voice saying it means she is somehow authentic or "deep." She is the personification of Bamboozled.
