Only a small minority are generous. The wealthiest 10% in the world have more wealth than the whole world combined.

42 people hold as much wealth as the 3.7 billion people who make up the poorer half of the world’s population.
Proof to back you claim that "only a small minority are generous" please. According to Philanthropy Roundtable in the US "high-income households provide an outsized share of all philanthropic giving. Those in the top 1 percent of the income distribution (any family making $394,000 or more in 2015) provide about a third of all charitable dollars given in the U.S. When it comes to bequests, the rich are even more important: the wealthiest 1.4 percent of Americans are responsible for 86 percent of the charitable donations made at death, according to one study." My judgement maybe harsh, but true.

I lost my home a few years back because of an incredibly selfish wealthy person.

Your a good tenant, pay your rent on time,look after the property and after 10 years your landlord decides to thank you by selling the property so he can have even more money and then [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]es off to Spain to live in his new villa.
Your landlord had title to the property. He can sell it if he chooses. His reason for doing that is irrelevant.

Dollars are no good to me, i am not American.

I would settle for about 4 million dollars which is around 2.5 million pounds.

All i want is enough money to buy a home for my family and to be able to pay the bills and put food on the table.

Would i be an abomination, no cause the money meets my needs.
Ok, 2.5 pounds then. Before you are bless with this enormous amount of money, tell me.....How will you handle it when large groups of Christians call you an abomination to society.....When they say that your treasure and heart is now on earth so it cant be in heaven..... When they look down on your because you are richer than most of the world, regaurdless of any good you do with this money......simply because you accepted this gift????

Given that he still doesn’t recognize he’s in the wrong for judging people like he is, I suspect you’re not going to get very far here.
I think, after he receives his 2.5 he will start to see things differently. OR......he will become the abomination he attributes to all rich.

This is the only issue I have with giving......never know if the money would go to good use, or if it would create abominations.... I dont want to create abominations.....

Maybe I should cease giving in this manner until my discernment is better.......

Yes, they can. It is not how much money you have, but whether if you TRUST in your money. I know a couple of very well-off people that love or loved God and His word. There are also "poor" people who trust in whatever worldly processions they have. It is just by human nature much easier to trust in "stuff" when you have a lot of it than when you have a little, and are more likely to feel that God is the only way

According to David Bentley Hart, wealth is opposed to salvation.
That does not matter though. What matters is what God says and that is not it. Read my post directly above this for an explaintion.

The western world is extremely rich compared to even the wealthy folk at the time of Jesus.

If follows that if the wealthy do not enter the kingdom of heaven, then the entire western Christian world cannot enter also.

Those today who compare to the rich in Jesus' day are the 'one per centers'.

So we really don't have the same obligation to those who don't do God's will, as they aren't Christ's 'brethren'. In fact aren't they the ones that are 'perishing'?

The good Samaritan comes to mind. We are to care for our neighbor too. Also Jesus says to feed our enemy.

It is not the quantity of a man's wealth which justifies, it is God, and if a rich man shows evidence of the Holy Spirit within him, trusts in the Lord, obeys his commandments, and has fellowship with other believers, why then is his material wealth a consideration? What will the questioner do, walk up to Jesus and say I have nothing, I am saved? Nonsense.

Read the Epistle of James. Also take note of Paul speaking about how there was every kind of man among the elect.

The good Samaritan comes to mind. We are to care for our neighbor too. Also Jesus says to feed our enemy.

The good Samaritan wasn't looking for people to help but was prepared just in case.

A good way to prepare to help others is to have the means (money) to do so.

There's many times that the New Testament says that it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich people to enter to the kingdom of God.

If a person thinks their salvational wealth is in their flesh... “rich man”... they will have issues.

If you’re talking about money... Abraham was one rich fellow.

As for the ministry... yeah... I’m not for people gouging the flock.

I told God that I wouldn’t minister in any way unless He forced me into it, or provided a tent maker type job that allowed me to volunteer my time and use my own resources.

I’ve just received that type of job. I prayed about this 2 months ago.

Not kidding! I agree with you on Paul’s model.

But wealthy and poor alike are in Christ.

Also, Paul was an official Roman Citizen. He wasn’t a poor fellow. Acts of the Apostles 22:28

Paul wasnt rich either. He suffered with huger. That Acts scripture you posted doesnt support your assertion that paul wasn't poor
