'Faithful is the saying' For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him:

'This is a faithful saying,' and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

Godliness is profitable unto all things, having the promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 'This is a faithful saying', and worthy of all acceptation.

'It is a faithful saying'If we suffer with Him we shall also reign with Him

'This is a faithful saying', that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works

Edified with Christ; every time we think of Him, His Love, His words, His work, His deeds, His care for the poor and every time we act on His commands, which are all His character in action., we receive His provision.

Psalms 29:1-11
Ascribe unto Jehovah, O ye sons of the mighty, Ascribe unto Jehovah glory and strength.
2 Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name; Worship Jehovah in holy array.
3 The voice of Jehovah is upon the waters: The God of glory thundereth, Even Jehovah upon many waters.
4 The voice of Jehovah is powerful; The voice of Jehovah is full of majesty.
5 The voice of Jehovah breaketh the cedars; Yea, Jehovah breaketh in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox.
7 The voice of Jehovah cleaveth the flames of fire.
8 The voice of Jehovah shaketh the wilderness; Jehovah shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of Jehovah maketh the hinds to calve, And strippeth the forests bare: And in his temple everything saith, Glory.
10 Jehovah sat [as King] at the Flood; Yea, Jehovah sitteth as King for ever.
11 Jehovah will give strength unto his people; Jehovah will bless his people with peace.

"Give unto the God of Glory worship. His powerful Voice, full of majesty, speaking to us, shaking our wilderness.
In Hebrew the root meaning of the word translated “glory” is “heavy” or “weighty.” It reminds me that our bodies, our abodes of clay which make up our tent or tabernacle at this particular time, will receive a very weighty thing when it will be glorified in our own resurrection of the body. I’m wondering what strength we will need to uphold that standing. Fortunate those whose confidence and trust is also handed over to His safekeeping.

Psalms 96:7-9,
7Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
8Ascribe to the LORD the glory of His name;
Bring an offering and come into His courts.
9Worship the LORD in holy attire;
Tremble before Him, all the earth.

Psalms 68:33
To Him who rides upon the highest heavens, which are from ancient times;
Behold, He speaks forth with His voice, a mighty voice.

Psalms 26:8
O LORD, I love the habitation of Your house
And the place where Your glory dwells.

Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

Hi Lorene,

This remings me of . . .

2 Corinthians 9
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work
9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness
11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

We set ourselves to abound in every good work - not just about money - and as they say, we cannot outgive God.

God's righteousness remains forever, so He has the endless supply, and can increase the fruits of our righteousness endlessly!

That eternal Weight of Glory !

Much love!

Thanks for the link to C S Lewis!
"Being enriched in everything to all bountifulness" ... culturally that crosses a lot of barriers of preconceived ideas because what was culturally significant in one era is not always so in another, often overlapping in the progression. This era of Christianity is concerned with the 'spirituality of the truth' as we endeavour to come closer to what Christ taught as acceptable. No one reads the bible free of cultural biases and since we can’t reconstruct ancient lenses we seek to replace our cultural lenses for theirs. Christ is truth and the Holy Spirit is, well, spirit, so to seek the Father in spirit and truth can only be our own sense of the experience of Christ thru the Spirit to our human spirit and as it relates to this age.

Hi Lorene,

I think that even if we heard the Words of Scripture as those to whom it was first given, I still wouldn't think that I would know what I should do.

I see myself as best directed by God through His wisdom, and let Him determine how I see others, and my role towards them. In other words, try to focus on learning Who Jesus is, like you say, in the Spirit, and then quash the flesh lest there be impediments to love. If I can love, and walk in the Spirit, I believe all will be well.

I'm not sure what you meant by this, would you mind elaborating?

Much love!

The Lewis commentary dealt with it also, i.e.: seeing the glory of what God sees in others, the 'spirituality of the truth’, a conclusion that would be reached naturally with spiritually responding to biblical reading.

I understand. Yes, I see the same.

Like how Peter tells me to see my wife.

Yes, if we all saw with those eyes, I wonder how much of the infighting would just evaporate!

Much love!

I find Peter’s comments more toward the overlap from law to grace where many had unbelieving husbands so safety measures needed to be put into place. Whereas Paul’s were more toward the spiritual progression that is Godward rather than pointing to mankind.

No doubt!

Perhaps I should have quoted the place?

I Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

This was the place I was reminded of.

Much love!

Oh ok, yes that would be according to knowledge just as Paul’s are according to the knowledge of Christ and the church. And that is where I see the church progressing to w/o the downward pull back to mankind.

That's a good connection, I feel silly for not ever making it!

Blessings, and much love!
