Hi, I have a question for all parents who allows their kids to surf the internet. How do you deal with inappropriate contentography and other inappropriate content on the internet? My kid is asking me to play computer games but I kinda afraid of all that stuff that he could see on the internet. And I do not have time to sit all the time and watch what he is doing there.

i'm not a parent or anything but you can add a inappropriate contentographic blocker on your computer that should stop any inappropriate contentographic stuff
Not 100% sure if this would block EVERY inappropriate contentographic stuff but it should stop them from going on sites that do have inappropriate contentographic stuff

Thank you, I didn't know it was possible. I just looked for inappropriate contentography blocker on google and found this site - Parent control app or Family internet filter | Family Friendly DNS. Do you think it will block everything? Thank you.

There's a few different ways, but no 100% sure-proof way of doing it. Something that can help, and even just to save you some hassle browsing in general, is adding OpenDNS to your router. When you set up your account on the site there's a number of filtering options you can add that will block a bunch of content.

But really, there is no substitute for education on how to be safe on the Internet, and keeping an eye on what they're doing. There are ways past everything, and filters can't stop everything.

Look up different programs to track kids. Install these programs where you can control their usage of the Internet and don't go to nasty websites.

Better yet, educate the kids on what is right and wrong, and why. Restrict access, and make them understand the restriction.

Actually we have done this with my niece: Given her guest app on the computer, and completely on restricted access and inability to download, and nothing but the necessary items for her school.

No Facebook, no junk. Social media is a mess and we don't need her to engage in that junk.

All good things

they worked i tried some before and they should work. but you might still want to keep a eye on your kid ateast a few times even with this since theres really no way of 100% blocking images in games etc

They don't block everything. I can get around all of that stuff easily. For the sake of anyone who profits from using it, I will not say how.

There is no substitute for supervision. If your child isn't being supervised, don't let them online.

There are parental control apps. that are free to use. The one my daughter uses blocks ALL websites until she adds the site to an allowed list when her son logs in under his password.
