I just heard a country western song in Reykjavik Iceland. Whattt? Lol
I noticed that, too---you hear American-style music from all over the world. I guess that sort of illustrates our cultural dominance at this historical juncture, for good or bad.
Got a smooth voice do you?
People used to tell me that, too.
"Well, gooooooooood morning Vietnam! Hey, you're in tune with AFVN, rockin' you 24 hours a day from the Delta to the DMZ, and right now at oh-eight-thirty, it's about 87 degrees here in downtown Saigon, aaaaaaand humid! In a moment, we'll have world news and headlines read to you by Army Specialist Gary Kribbs, but first, a word from our sponsors:
"Did you know that firing tracer rounds can leave deposits on the working mechanisms of your weapon? This can cause malfunctions and jamming, perhaps when you need it the most. So limit tracers to every fourth or fifth round. Take care of your weapon, and it will take care of you!
"All right, troopies, those are words to live by. This next one goes out to Tommy Delaguido, up with Company B, 2nd Battalion, 173rd Infantry, for Eddie and the Fire Team at An Khe, and for the groovy C.O. of the Ninth Marine Expeditionary Brigade; this is Eric Burden and the Animals, with 'We
Gotta Get out of This Place, If It's the Last Thing We Ever Do!'"
