We are living in times where many are doubling down on their sin. As the darkness grows, many fiercely defend their sinful practices. This is especially evident in the matter of abortion. The science could not be clearer that there is a unique, beautifully formed, distinct human life in the womb of a pregnant mother, with a heartbeat...

Basically, how I understand this is the person is saying >

The first stage of sin is a person becomes blind so the person then can step into more trouble and fall into his or her own pit.

Stage two > The person cares less, does not feel shame, even can grow to approve of the sin.

Stage three > As the sin becomes a habit, the person feels a need to have the sin.

Stage four > The person more and more can despise . . . everything, including God. For example, it is possible for someone to read the title of your thread and just despise your effort to help us stop our sinning . . . instead of loving us and saying things to help us do better against our sinning.

Stage five > One becomes hardened so he or she has no consideration of repenting. Possibly, the person feels it would take too much effort.

1- Impairment

2- indifference

3-incapacity

4-incorrigibility

5-indisposition

In these ways sin is like a progressive illness, a deepening disease; it moves through stages in much the same way cancer does. Repentance at any stage is possible, but it becomes increasingly unlikely, especially by stage 4, when the sinner becomes proud of his sin and joyful in his iniquity.

Beware of the progressive illness of sin!
