As already posted we're to help according to Scripture; however, equality isn't possible because Jesus said the poor will ALWAYS be. John 12

That's because Jesus understood the political/economic systems of the world (all belonging to Satan) are built upon human exploitation, so there will always be poor people at the bottom. This was noted by Solomon as well in Ecclesiastes.

This appears to be a strawman, because im not against government taxes. Im just saying the church cant levy taxes. You cant marry socialism and the Church.

Do you have that same "separation of church and state" opinion across the board on all issues, or just where taxes are concerned?

Will you require a tithe from the church? Is that biblical?

You didn't answer my question, which required only a "yes" or a "no."

But I can figure why you didn't answer my question, so I'll let it go for now. But I expect that sooner or later, I'll have a chance to refer you back to your post.

I dont see how politicizing the church is a good thing, does that answer your question? Can you answer mine?

The tithe is a Mosaic Law requirement. Not only is it not a requirement for the Body of Christ, Jews don't even tithe anymore because they are unable to do it according to the Law.

So the answer to that question is, "No."

A tithe was a tax if im not mistaken. Why do you support taxing the church? Whats this scripture mean? How can you compel the church to give a certain amount (taxes) when scripture says otherwise?

2 Corinthians 9:7 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

A tithe was a tax if im not mistaken.

There were two or possibly three tithes. The annual tithe was not a "tax" at all, it was a national potluck feast: People brought the food and wine and ate their tithe with their fellow Jews.

There was a triennial tithe that was for the support of the Levites, which could be considered a tax.

Why do you support taxing the church?

Where did you get the idea that I do? You asked me: "Will you require a tithe from the church?."

I said, explicitly: "The answer to that question is, "No."

Are you not paying attention? Is this not a discussion? Are you just typing your own opinion into a void?

I think we should vote for people that help the poor.

The problem is every time there is an election, the politicians of a certain party tell me they are Christians, that they believe in 'family values', and they say something about the bible.. and golly - I fall for it every time!!!

Everyone at my church tells me I had to vote for a guy that admits to sleeping with prostitutes. I was told we'd all get rich and America would be great again. I don't understand how this keeps happening!!
