Really? So if I believe that the new heart God gives me allows me to love and follow Him freely, I’m lying to myself?
I'm sure that you knew that wasn't my point. You are free to obey God but if one thinks that they can abuse others just because they say they believe, will face a harsh judgement.

I like your explanation. Nice.

Your welcome. In fact, what the Belief Alone Proponent does not realize is that while "grace may abound" (Romans 5:20), they need to understand that "grace reigns through righteousness unto eternal life," too (Romans 5:21).

20 "Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 5:20-21).

So while grace abounds, grace also reigns through righteousness.
For sin reigns unto death. Grace reigns through righteousness.
For Romans 6:1 (which is the very next verse after Romans 5:21) says,
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? "

1 John 3:7 says, "...let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous,..."
1 John 3:8 says, "He that committeth sin is of the devil;"
John 3:20 says, "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved."
John 8:47 says, "He that is of God heareth God's words"
1 John 3:10 says, "In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."
1 John 3:15 says, "Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him."

Titus 2:11-12 says that God's grace teaches us to deny ungodliness, and that we should live righteously and godly in this present world.

Ephesians 5:25-27 says that the reason why Christ died for us was so that He might sanctify the church with the washing of the water of the Word (i.e. the Bible) so that he may present to Himself a church that is holy, and without blemish.

So God's grace and righteous living go hand in hand.
This is why James say in James 2:18 that he will show you his faith by his works.
For a faith without works is dead (James 2:17).
A belief alone (without works) is like that of the belief of demons (James 2:19).
Hebrews 12:14 says, "Follow... holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."
This is why we are not saved by a belief alone.
Works and holiness need to be present.

So in conclusion:

1. Grace reigns through righteousness.
2. God's grace teaches to deny ungodliness.
3. Jesus died (God's grace) so as to make us holy.
4. Faith without works is dead.
5. We show our faith by our works.
6. Faith alone is like that of the belief of demons.
7. God has chosen us to salvation via by belief of the truth and Sanctification.

The bottom line: Ananias and Sapphira were believers and they sinned against God, they died, and the Bible says: so that their souls can be saved for the day of the Lord, keeping God promised, 'they never perish'.

No. This is in reference to the man who fornicated in the church and he was kicked out. This is why those Belief Alone Proponents who say that we cannot stop from lusting after women are in error. They don't realize that if the man who fornicated in the church was to be kicked out and handed over to Satan so that their sinful nature could be destroyed so that they MAY be saved. For 1 Corinthians 5:5 (NLT) says, "Then you must throw this man out and hand him over to Satan so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself will be saved on the day the Lord returns."

I can’t read your mind, so I’m not sure of your point.

Romans 2, James 2, Luke 10, Matthew 25, and many more passages make it very clear. We must be obedient to God's commands in order to receive eternal life. The causal link is very clear:

Romans 2 tells us that in the judgment, God will render unto each person according to their works. To those who, by perseverance in well doing, seek honor, glory, and immortality, He gives eternal life. And to those who seek only for themselves, He gives eternal punishment. It is clear as crystal.

Then in James 2, despite the common lie that he is speaking of how good works are the fruit of salvation, he lays out the causality clearly yet again, stating that Abraham and Rahab were justified when they obeyed the command of God or, in the case of Rahab, saw that the Israelites were the people of God and hid the spies. You might not like it, but that is what the Scripture is saying in the clear message. He is setting out to answer the question of whether or not faith can save a man who has no works. He isn't asking if the man really has faith. He is asking if he can be saved by faith alone. And his answer is, once again, crystal clear.

Luke 10 is very simple. It's the question which is the center of how to be saved. The lawyer asks how to obtain eternal life. Christ confirms that the way the Law gives is still the way God will judge. This is the Lord of the New Covenant saying that we are to follow, at the very least, these two commandments. It's not a free ride. The statement of Christ is, once again, crystal clear.

Finally, Matthew 25 makes it abundantly clear. The judgment is based on how we treat the least worthy among us.

Twisting Scripture to give people a false sense of security is, in and of itself, hateful to those people. I would rather have a real hope than a false sense of security.

Why are you assuming that’s the only way he could be saved?
Because if Noah did not obey God and build the ark, he would have drowned just like everyone else that did not obey God.

Instead of mocking Noah,,,they should have inquired and believed the REASON he was building the ark.

1. In fact Genesis says that the earth was corrupt in the eyes of God.
Genesis 6:11

2. God said that all flesh had corrupted their way on upon the earth.
Genesis 6:12

3. God said the earth was filled with violence because of THEM (mankind) and God was about to destroy them.
Genesis 6:13

So what do we learn from this:

1. The earth was corrupt in the eyes of God. Why should He be upset over it? Is it not God who ordained the earth to be corrupt?

2. Man had become corrupt and depraved.

3. God does not take responsibility for the corruption...He says that the violence was due to THEM...mankind. He blames MANKIND for the corruption...not Himself. Did HE not ordain the corruption?

In Genesis 6:5 God is sorry to have made mankind because he was so wicked, He grieved. Why would God grieve is man had no free will and God ORDAINED mankind to be this way?

The above refers to mankind having free will to salvation...as per the O.P.'s concept of final salvation being in the hands of man or God.

Not necessarily. What is right to do is simply right. Any rewards are another matter..
Rewards are for believers,,,whatever they may be.
The N.T. refers to salvation as the end "prize".
Mathew 24:13 JESUS says that those who hold firm till the end will be SAVED --- not receive prizes.

As James argued in his Epistle, we can pretty well guess that such people do not have saving Faith. So what is the eternal consequence of not having Faith in Christ?
Faith is faith.
What is "saving" faith?

The entire N.T. was written to saved believers...except for very few passages.
James is saying, simply, that faith without works is a dead faith.

James 2:14 A faith without works cannot save because it's a useless faith. James 2:20

Faith without works is a dead faith.
James 2:17 because it is alone, and by itself.

I agree. If our fruits demonstrate our own sonship, best shown by our love perhaps, then there's very little reason to doubt one's saved status. In any case, we're the wildcard in it all while He's trustworthy and true to a "T". :)
Good point re love.
I was at a bible study yesterday with a monk who repeatedly says that the only way to determine our salvation is by the love we show for others. And, which is the only gift we will be left with after death.
(faith and hope will no longer be necessary.)

This falling away is not by the saved...

The falling away is for the church, what they preach and the numbers of people that reject Christ.
Just look at the US... getting rid of prayer in schools, making people take down large emblems of the cross... No lords prayer... Christianity was losing ground big time until Trump came along and started to speak out for Christian values......and stated that Pence would be his sounding board..

Pence is a very solid Christian..

When Trumps time in office ends.... the US will again speed down the road away from Christian values and this "falling away" will be it's doom.
Although I can't really know what's going on over there anymore...I knew at the campaign that Trump would protect Christianity more than Hillary.
I'm very happy this is coming to bear on attitudes .....IF it is. I hope so.

What makes you think the falling away is for the church only?

For instance Hebrews 3:12-19 sounds very personal to me and not about a church.

Where does scripture say or imply that?

That’s the law, not the gospel.
H,
What Jesus proclaimed is the gospel !
The Law was in the O.T.

Every word that comes out of the mouth of Jesus is a command.

Whether we wish to keep it or not is up to us.

It’s still the law. It’s a summary of it.

I know the story. What I’m asking is for evidence that Noah would have been in that group had he not built the Ark.
God spoke to him.
He listened.
What more needs to be known?
If he had not heeded God's call, as many do not,,,
what would have been his fate?

There’s the question. I don’t know because scripture doesn’t say.

Of course we should. But not because we are trying to stay out of jail.
Well, as you know by now,
I DO believe that's what keeps us out of jail.

Is there a verse that states we do not have to obey God?

And what happens to those that do not obey?

OR, are we FORCED to obey God?

There’s the question. I don’t know because scripture doesn’t say.
It's good that you heed scripture.
Now we should all heed ALL of scripture.
John 15:5-6

Amazing how anyone could get around that one.
When Jesus speaks....
We should all listen.

I know of no verse that says we can not be obedient. I also no of none that state our salvation is dependent upon our salvation.
