If you keep sinning after yoluve been saved are you still saved? Jesus promises in John 6:37-40 to not lose one single believer but do believers continue to sin after they've been saved? Like for example say you're caught in the same set of sins are you still saved? Even if you cannot stop doing those same sins over and over again? Like say you like to use Christs name in vain a lot or if you swear a lot or if you're stuck in one particular sin is that person still given to Jesus by God the Father and eternally secure?

Yes you are saved if you are in grace and still sin. If you have died to sin in Christ you are free from the power of sin, the penalty of sin, guilt and judgment.

However, you still should be taking measures to not sin.

I suggest reading Romans.

We all sin. I know this is the common answer to your concern. So I will change it up a bit. Do you want to sin? Do you enjoy the act of sinning? If the answer is no, then you are just in the flesh and not walking in the Spirit. If you walk in the Spirit eventually habitual sins will naturally fall away. I know this is very hard for Christians to grasp but I believe this to be true. It is the scriptural answer to a guilt free life.
Blessings

I got it from the verses I quoted in the OP (John 6:37-40).

"All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day."
The condition for Christ not losing them isn’t belief. It’s those who the Father gives Him.

Romans 8:13 says,
"For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live."

In other words, Paul is saying that if live after the flesh you are going to die (die spiritually), but if you put to death the deeds of the body via by the help of the Holy Spirit, you shall live (spiritually live) (Note: "works of the flesh" can refer to sin, see Galatians 5:19-21; And deeds can refer to sin, see Jude 1:15). This is confirmed even more in Romans 8:1 that there is no Condemnation those in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh (i.e. sin), but who walk after the Spirit. Galatians 5:16 says, "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." We are told in Galatians 5:19-21 that they that do such sinful things (such as adultery, fornication, hatred, drunkenness, etc.) will not inherit the Kingdom of God. The phrase "inherit the Kingdom of God" is alluded to salvation in the Parable of the Sheep and Goats (Matthew 25:31-46). For the sheep on the Lord's right hand (the saints) were told this,

34 "Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in" (Matthew 25:34-35).

The goats on the left hand side of the Lord were told this,

41 "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink"
(Matthew 25:41-42).

The goats were told to depart from Jesus because they did not help the poor.
This same truth is expressed in Luke 10:25-37.
For in Luke 10:25-28, Jesus agrees with the lawyer on the truth that we must love God and love our neighbor as a part of inheriting eternal life.
Luke 10:29-37 (the Parable of the Good Samaritan) shows that helping the poor beat up guy on the side of the road is the equivalent of "loving our neighbor."

Is a bab in Christ like our little ones who are learning to walk, just because they fall on their butts doesn't mean that they have failed to walk, it means they are learning and getting better with every time they get back up and try again. Same with the Christian walk, just because we are babs in faith, doesn't mean that we have the walk with God perfected. It means that we still need His hand to hold us up, still need voice guiding us, still need His encouragement to remain diligent in our efforts, still need His every step of The Way.

There is a difference between honestly stumbling into sin, and confessing it before one overcomes such a grievous sin, vs. thinking one will be a slave to their grievous sin always in this life (and thinking they are saved by just having a belief on Jesus). Proverbs 28:13 essentially says he that confesses and forsakes sin shall have mercy.

At the heart, the problem with Belief Alone-ism is that it is suggesting that one can sin occasionally and still be saved while doing so (Thereby turning God's grace into a license for immorality on some small level). But God cannot agree with a person in committing grievous sin on some small level, because God condemns grievous sin within His own Word (Matthew 5:28-30, Matthew 6:15, Matthew 12:37, Matthew 19:17-19, Matthew 25:31-46, Luke 10:25-28, 1 John 3:15, Galatians 5:19-21, Revelation 21:8). God is holy, and righteous, and He cannot agree with sin or turn a blind eye to it, and Jesus did not die on the cross so that we could have a free "get out of hell card" so that we could never need worry about sin destroying us ever again. We have to endure, overcome, resist temptation, keep ourselves in the love of God, etc.

Jude 1:4 says that God's grace is not a license for immorality.
Peter warns us about those who cannot cease from sin (2 Peter 2:1, 2 Peter 2:14). So I fail to see how folks think they can sin and still be saved. It really does not work like that according to the Bible.

If an unbeliever keeps doing good throughout his entire life, without turning to Christ, do you think he will still belong to the devil?

Your answer lies in that opposite question. Once you decided on your answer, turn to Romans 5:12-19. =)

Please stop misleading people with a false gospel. Your handling of scripture, taking part of this verse here and tacking on part of that verse there, is disingenuous and promotes a false gospel.

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

I believe that the Old Law is a shadow cast by the body of the New Covenant Law given to us by Jesus and His followers. In other words, while Psalms 19:7-11 is referring to the Old Law, the principle behind God's laws in general are universal in practice.

7 "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward."
(Psalms 19:7-11).

To put it to you another way, the words in this passage above here are true and they are still applicable to our life today. God's laws today would be the New Law and not the Old Law.
God's Law in general is still perfect, and it can convert the soul.
God's testimony is sure, and it can make wise the simple.
God's statutes are right, and they can rejoice the heart.
God's commandment is pure, and it can enlighten the eyes.

This is still all very true today for the New Covenant Laws as it was for former Old Covenant Laws.

By them (God's laws) his servant is warned, and by keeping them (God's laws), there is great reward.
This is why when we obey the Law of loving our neighbor there is going to be a great reward. One can merely read this for themselves if they were to read Luke 10:25-37, and Matthew 25:31-46.

In all the churches I have been associated with, I have seen less than three or four people who I think have had major willful sin issues. The vast majority of believers have been godly folk whose greatest desire is to live holy lives for the Lord. You must be surrounded by religious hypocrites pretending to be Christian!

Not at all. I provide God's WORD. In response you provide your own. I know who I believe. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it *ROMANS 3:4

Those with new hearts will not live a life without repentance. So no need to try to scare people with a false gospel.

Your words disagree with God's. The only false Gospel is one that denys God's WORD. You have been provided God's WORD and in response you provide your own. I know who I believe and it is not you *ROMANS 3:4. According to God's WORD only those who endure temptation to the end receive everlasting life *JAMES 1:12. There is no such thing as once saved always saved. This is a false gospel and is a teaching and tradition of men that is not biblical and no where found in God's Word.

To all:

The Holy Spirit is given to those who obey Him (Acts of the Apostles 5:32).
Even obeying God's commands is the basis for Jesus and the Father to dwell in a person.
"Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." (John 14:23).
A person cannot have life without abiding in the Son.
For he that has the Son has life, and he that does not have the Son, does not have life (1 John 5:12).

James 1:12 is a good verse. Not sure how this one can ignored or changed by the Belief Alone Proponent.

"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him." (James 1:12).

So the man who ENDURES TEMPTATION is said to receive the crown of life which is promised to those who love him. This makes sense that they love Him (Jesus) because Jesus said if you love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15). Paul said that if any man loves not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed (1 Corinthians 16:6). This means if we are not loving Jesus by keeping His commandments, we are accursed. The Bible defines how we are to love Jesus. We cannot make up our own terms on how to love Jesus. Paul says if we are not loving Jesus we are accursed. It does not get any clearer than that.

M8,

Not one “saint” goes a day without sinning. The ones who say they do... are liars.

I fail daily, and if not for Jesus... I would be damned!

I rejected the world that told me to exalt myself as my own god... to follow the Carpenter that was born in a stable.

Let no lies be found in our mouths! The haughty can have one another’s admiration and exaltation of their deeds before men.

I, a forgiven sinner, only righteous by His Grace, Mercy and forgiveness... wrapped in His Life and Death.... owe no man anything... but the Mercy and Love bestowed upon me by the King of Kings and Lord of lords.

Seeing that, in reality, we all sin after we were converted to Christ, does that mean that when you sin, you are no longer saved, and according to the Scripture you quoted, there is no way back to Christ for you? Do you really believe that??

Those who teach that Jesus’ blood was not once for all sin, would have Him recrucified daily!

Amen.

Oscarr, those that quote that think that they haven’t quite sinned enough to be lost.

Well, their sin isn’t as bad as other people’s sin... don’t ya know!

I wonder how this will help a godly believer who is struggling with his own sinfulness, who is crying out to God for holiness and yet finds his flesh is warring against his love for the Law of God and his heart's strong desire to comply with it? I would find advice like this would be putting a burden on me that I cannot endure. It is the reason why many don't accept the gospel, and why many fall away, because of the error teaching that we have to be perfect in all respects because God will accept us in Christ and before the Holy Spirit will work in us to increase our sanctification.

I don't think they have the sound appreciation of the sinfulness of sin, and if that is so, then their conversion to Christ can only be half-hearted, and that Justification and Salvation are pretty well meaningless words to them.

Genuine believers don't have a lifestyle of premeditated, willful sin, but they do sin out of weakness; and the reality is that after conversion, because sin is so sinful, it sticks to us like dog poop to our shoe. We know it is there, and try to get rid of it because it stinks and is unpleasant!

I’ll go a step further...

Want to know the difference between sins of omission and commission?

One sounds more holy.

Spoiler Alert... James 2:10.

I’m not sure if the “Perfect ones”... really know what’s all in those 613 Mitzvahs.

I’ll just say, they make really solid concrete shoes.

If anybody has found a way to 100% stop sinning after coming to faith or are "saved", what's your secret? And can I have it? PM me.
