This morning:

Biden leads Trump by 'landslide proportions' in new national poll

Former Vice President Joe Biden leads President Trump by 13 points nationally, according to the latest Quinnipiac University survey. In a national head-to-head matchup, the poll found Biden taking 53 percent against 40 percent for Trump, with the poll's assistant director describing it as a "landslide" margin.
And from August 2016 Quinnipiac once again:

New poll shows we're 'starting to hear the faint rumblings of a Hillary Clinton landslide'

A poll from Quinnipiac University released on Thursday gave Hillary Clinton a massive advantage over her Republican counterpart, Donald Trump, just 75 days before November's election.

The poll put Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, at 51% and Trump, the Republican nominee, at 41% in a head-to-head matchup.

"We are starting to hear the faint rumblings of a Hillary Clinton landslide as her 10-point lead is further proof that Donald Trump is in a downward spiral as the clock ticks

He seems to be losing some support since joining in with the abortion crowd. I hope he takes that as a hint about flip-flopping, which could be another part of history repeating itself (John Kerry).

<shrug> it's June....

Only 5 more months to go until November!
Which is only 12 more months from the November actually containing an election day!
Time is short! ;)

Welp. We'll have to wait a year and a half to find out.

Well the 2 largest single-day protests in American history were against Donald J Trump. More folks turned out to show how much they were opposed to that man than they showed up to protest Vietnam. Donald did not win the votes of the people, he lost by millions. I do think in 2020 there will be more folks who get up off their butts in the swing states & go vote, so we don't have to repeat this shameful history.

Actually Donald made history on account of how there were literally protests on every single continent in the world in opposition to him. Even in Antartica, lol.

Trump has shown the world for who he really is, which is why have been enormous protests around the world against him. Why his worldwide approval rating is abysmal, especially among key allies. And seeing as how there are American citizens living around the world entitled to vote, yes ballots will be sent in from all over. Including from Antarctica.
There were indeed amazing protests there against Donald, from scientists who are working to benefit this planet Donald is intent on doing his best to disrespect.

What gets missed because we dare not speak it aloud is the World collectively trying to dodge a bullet of “history repeating”; all the while each side is becoming convinced that the other side will bring ruination to this world...and is secretly (or openly), planning to thwart those evil schemes!
This is what one gets with religion being heavily invested in politics, and is EXACTLY why it’s bad!

National polls are essentially meaningless. Everyone seems to forget that the President is not elected nationally. His/her election is determined by 50 state elections, and DC. As of now, I don't see that Donald Trump has much of a chance to flip any of the blue states that Hillary won in 2016. Those 232 EVs seem pretty solid. As the article notes, the election will hinge on Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. These are traditionally Democratic states, that Trump won. That's the battlefield. If a Democrat can hold Hillary's base, and win back these three, that's 278 EVs. Which is a win.

If the Democrats repeat history themselves by putting in Biden then history will continue to repeat itself when Trump beats him.

The unmentioned fact about that popular vote total is that Trump was smart enough to campaign in the toss-up states and not much in the solidly blue states (unlike Hillary).

IF THE ELECTION BEEN BY POPULAR VOTE instead, he would have won that also, in all probability.

But of course the campaigning would have been conducted differently because of the different circumstances.

What's the fallacy where one cherry-picks a case where someone beat the odds and ignores all the cases where the obvious favorite won? I'm reading shades of it in the OP.
“Texas sharpshooter fallacy”, (painting the bullseye around the bullet holes).
