While I've made many changes in my life to be a better christian. I now need to do even more. Some I know I will struggle with. But I really need these changes. To much "worldy" stuff is still in my life. It shouldn't be. Pray God gives me strength and wisdom.

Hello Brother,

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I will pray for you! If I could share my story with you, I think it might help you a little. I was saved when I was eight years old but turned my back on Christ when I was fifteen. That lasted until I was 29 y.o. when the Holy Spirit woke me up one Sunday morning and told me to “Go to church”. I was living in the same area that I grew up in, so I went back to the same church I was saved in. The only thing that I knew was Christ and Him Crucified. Further, I had a lot of things in my life that were sinful and of the world. The Lord gave me a passion for His Word and over the course of four years I grew closer to Him until I fully understood that I was married to Christ. It took that long to shed all of the worldly, sinful things out of my life. It was then that He provided an earthly Bride for me! So be strong and courageous! Know that it might take some time to shed the world off. Also, there are things that you can proactively do to help yourself. For instance, I fasted from Television for 60 days and ultimately had my cable turned off (it remained off). Get anything and everything out of your house that contributes to your sin.

Praying for you, brother,

Kevin

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE I agree with the above post but would add that almost any t.v. is going to be giving messages that are anti Biblical. I personally felt led to give it up 100%, years ago and felt told "T.V. is being used to harden the hearts of Americans."

Another thing about t.v. is that it is well documented to put people into a mild hypnotic state - the better to sell you their propaganda and products and world views, my dear.

I pray you will "be transformed by the renewing of your mind" and that you will be led to a very close and holy walk with the Father.

I like what EagleScout88 had to say. I wonder how many Christians live life from the prospective that we are to be ambassadors for Christ. That we are to live for Him, not for ourselves, seems to allude many Christians. So many are worldly, keeping themselves as the center of their world, instead of Christ. This is natural, but we are to mature more into what is spiritual, Romans 8:6. We will one day give an account of our lives. Will those lives say, to our shame, that we were more concerned about the ungodly things of the world, than the godly things of Christ? Father, help us see what You would have us see in all of this, and may we live more for You than self, Philippians 1:21. Amen.
