"We are concerned about the wellbeing of children and desire to see that suffering, especially at the hands of child predators, be prevented. Through a partnership with MinistrySafe, we offer regional training workshops to help inform your church about how to prevent child sexual abuse."

I ran across this as I was looking for a list of Baptist denominations. It sounds like a very good idea, don't you think?

They should be holding workshops to help the abuser's out of love and forgiveness and understanding.

Cast the first stone, As I do not believe in child abuse, The only way to stop it, is to help the ones doing it.

Abuse comes from the root and almost always the abuser was abused.

I also do not believe in murder, But they do have workshops for that.

Would you be able to explain any condition or circumstance under which anyone would not think it's a good idea? Is there some aspect of controversy that makes it worth posting in a forum concerning ethics and morality?

Would you be able to explain how anyone would choose to attempt to pull the rug out from under someone who is merely posting what is a good idea?

You decide what's more baffling here, someone posting about an action that is both ethical and moral, because it's something that's designed to fight what isn't ethical or moral, or having to explain why they did so?

Because it cannot lead to any kind of discussion. It's barely acceptable in a news and current events setting, because at least it's probably news. But some group somewhere doing something good about something shouldn't be the yard arm for post worthiness, especially in a forum devoted to a discussion of ethics and morality.

I'm sure your input is appreciated to someone, somewhere.

Right back at ya.

Lol. just kidding. I'm not sure at all about that.

Wish I had more time for your much ado about nothing but I don't...your argument is just too petty to take it any further. You can have the last word if if needed.

As a missionary whose ministry involves working with children I have taken several courses relating to child abuse, child sexual abuse, and other related topics including the one offered by Ministry Safe. It's a decent course, but the best courses I have taken and the ones I feel are the best by far are offered by an organization called Darkness to Light. Here is a link to their site: https://www.d2l.org/

Having actual victims of sexual abuse incorporated into the curriculum going into detail about their experiences and how they were able to overcome these traumatic experiences is what really sets their courses apart from others.
