Is sex important to Christian's spiritual life

It's critical to maintain a bond with your spouse. Every unhappy couple I know has a terrible sex life, and while it can be a bit of a chicken and egg problem, a bad sex life and an unhappy marriage go hand-in-hand.

I suppose it's a bit more than just "sex life". Probably more like "Physical intimacy". As I've seen a few couples try to basically force "Sex twice a week" or something and that doesn't work at all. If sex becomes a chore, that might even be worse than celibacy, but neither are good. Both have to enjoy the physical company of each other.

It's a big change that she's embarking upon.

Still, spouses owe this to one another. I think it would be reasonable if she doesn't want it every single day. But at the end of the day, you are her husband and you can only get this from her. This is a legit need for people so she should be more amenable, imo.

To your other point though... I must say, I don't see an immediate and obvious connection between a less-than-ideal sex life with your wife and a spiritual challenge.

Menopause does effect woman in different ways. I’m sure your wife has not lost interest in you. Unless of course there are other problems. A good wife shall always make sure that your physical needs are wonderfully blessed.
