Understood!!! :D

Is there a verse that offers you hope if your faith slips...

Whispering... hint... Post #4
Thank you very much, but I prefer this verse..."There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Cor 10:13)
Keep looking for the escapes, they are there!

Good works of the flesh are not bad but mean nothing towards justication/sanctification. It is only in faith in the works of Jesus Christ can we find this. We still have work to do but those works are works of the Holy Spirit which lives within us and makes us holy.

No one bit.
Now it is up to me to remain faithful, as the devil, as a roaring lion, waits at the edge of camp to devour the weak and lazy.

John 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. 29My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

The devil may devour the weak and lazy....but he can't snatch you from Jesus hand.

i agree.

Eph 2:10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

... are external indicators of whether I truly have accepted Jesus Christ. Works of the flesh don't save anyone, but they are visible indicators of whether or not a person has a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ that will lead to salvation.

Here is a question that needs clarification.

Is our continuing in the faith, grounded and settled and our enduring to the end a work or not?

If anyone tries to tell you that God does not want.... well, actually require.... that we grow in the faith and in our cooperation with God in our lives, and tries to make such a mentality a "work", be careful, I hear a hiss closeby.

The key is not whether we have to work or not, but where is the direction of our gaze? Where is our effort going, this life or the next? What do we call real treasure, based upon our actions, not our theology?

This works versus faith stuff is leading us further and further away from what we should be asking ourselves. And what is that?
Are we losing our lives to find His in us? Are we increasingly hating our lives and our old self natures, or are we pretty comfortable and content with things right the way they are between us and God? If so, it is, whether we like it or not, simply a more easily swallowed and less pointed way of saying "I have need of nothing."

Rise and shine, everyone Our awakening is here. ☺️

blessings,

Gideon

As long as that growth and imparted Spiritual victory that “can”, by His will with each individual and in His unjudgable time... unjudgable by outside eyes... shape us completely... is all imparted as His Work Alone... And His Will alone... in the sense of Faith to Faith (Being in the Father’s Grasp... through the Son)...

Can you rephrase to help me out? ☺️

:) not the same. is that what the word WORKS means here? "But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not in vain. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me, There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all men."

What I see it what so many miss. They picture a GOD what trillions of miles away on some throne.
Its GOD the great I am that works/wortheth,working IN YOU! GOD is IN YOU!

If its YOUR works.. hmm.. but if its HIS amen

As long as that growth and imparted Spiritual victory that shapes a soul to the measure of even impacting the death bound flesh...

that “can”, bring a person into faith that moves Spiritual and Carnal Mountains...

by His (God’s) will ...... (Taking into account each mans walk is different)->with each individual

Each mans response by God’s working with each individual uniquely in His unjudgable time... (We all take a different amount of time)...

unjudgable by outside eyes... (Let no man judge a Christian by His Carnal traits)

shape us completely...(God the Holy Spirit... Romans 8:9).... Shaping the clay of the soul to the measure it impacts the dying flesh)

is all imparted as His Work Alone...

And His Will alone... (Only initial response -yes or no- to the Gospel taken as our response to 1 John 2:2 accounted to man)

in the sense of Faith to Faith (Being in the Father’s Grasp... through the Son)... (Initial Faith in God the Son to the Father’s Imparting Of Saving Faith -Drawing-)

Yes, I agree with your over arching message... in your line of Mature Sola Fide (Faith Alone)... understanding.

Philippians 2:12 " work out your own salvation."

Acts of the Apostles 2:40 'save yourselves '

1 Timothy 4:16 "save thyself'

2 Corinthians 7:1 "let us cleanse ourselves"

1 Peter 1:22 "Seeing ye have purified your souls"

James 4:7-8 "Submit yourselves therefore to God.... Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded"

Jude 1:21 "Keep yourselves in the love of God,"

2 Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves"

Romans 6:13,16 "but yield yourselves unto God,...Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"

Man does have a role in his own salvation in obeying the will of God and those that do, then it can be seen that God is working in them. Those that do not, then it can be seen God is not working in them.

Good works of the flesh are not bad but mean nothing towards justication/sanctification. It is only in faith in the works of Jesus Christ can we find this. We still have work to do but those works are works of the Holy Spirit which lives within us and makes us holy.

That is basically my thinking.

Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus see those who do good works as belonging to him.
Works done under our own power are garbage, a waste of time.
Eph 2:10 as was pointed out are for us to walk in.
II Peter 1 says we have the Divine Nature and that we are to develop the virtues listed there.
Works done by walking in the Spirit or by the power of the Spirit though us are the good ones.
As Eph 2:8-9 points out one is not saved by works.
James points out that works without faith is dead or something like that.

My Works?
His Works?
Our Works?
His works that He's prepared for us to do, our cooperation.

We're saved through faith (Phil 3:9), as the means to communion with God who, alone, can justify us. Man cannot justify himself, with or without the Law; God's Spirit must reside within him. Faith is not some kind of replacement for authentic righteousness, or a license to escape from its obligation. Rather it's the means to it.

Paul knew that his "righteousness" as a Pharisee was s***, even if perfectly executed on the outside, because the inside must be clean first of all while the outside counts for nothing by itself. The word often translated as "uncleanness" or "filth", or "impurity" describing the Pharisees inner state in Matt 23:27 has an interesting etymology too from my understanding.
