yeah, sadly, that's about the right of it.

but it's only one component of it. You can't spend trillions of dollars per year on an ineffective measure when simple gun control laws and other sensible measures would produce a better result for a fraction of the cost.

It's beyond deciding that nothing can be done, it's the actual refusal to try to do "anything" to solve the problem...

In fact it's worse.

It is the actual opposition to preventing ANYONE from trying ANYTHING to help solve the problem.

It's interesting. When it comes to cancer, disease, drunk driving, even War, we as a society have no problem trying solutions that saves lives or at least reduce the number of fatalities.

But for some reason, there is an active group that vehemently opposes any concrete measure to reduce gun death fatalities. Not only that, they actively prevent the collection of data that could be used to produce metrics that could be use to implement solutions or at the very least actually illuminate the problem...

It is insane that this issue cannot get any traction.

I thought after Sandy Hook, that after children were slaughtered, we'd entertain "some" form of solutions. But nope, the GOP drew a line in the sand... no... they dug trenches, and they refused to budge and fought in true WWI style to prevent any gun control measures from gaining any ground...

The OBAMA administration’s ATF created the loophole for bump stocks. The TRUMP administration with the support of the NRA outlawed the device that was used in the Las Vegas shooting.
