The reality is that Americans today are less free than the Russians who lived under Soviet communism. The difference is that Americans believe they're free and won't hear any argument to the contrary.
If any official walks up to me on the street, and demands "papers, please", I'm free to tell him to buzz off, unless he can clearly tell me what crime I committed. If I'm taking pictures, and he doesn't like it, tough for him. Those two things alone would get you hard time in the old Soviet Union. So, no.
Thank you for proving my point.

Since we have all that stuff already, getting actual security out of it would be nice.

People are being held captive in America right now. How would you solve this problem?

Details, please. Who? By whom? On what charges? What are the terms of their "captivity"?

I'm sure you could do the research. You have probably heard of human trafficking. You have probably seen on the news people that escaped captivity. I believe some of these people even wrote a book. Elizabeth Smart was one.

Do a search :I was held captive". You have surely heard of Pimps.

I'm sure you have a point. But I don't know what it is or how it relates to my point.

I guess I should just say. Yes, the government should use this technology to protect us.
Okay, I have no idea what you mean so I'll just smile, nod and back away slowly.

Yeah good plan. Oh your quote says "If God is your father, then who is your mother?" I assume you are talking about Mary. Do you regard her as your spiritual mother or as your mother deity?

Would you allow the government with the right checks and balances to track everything to protect us more from crime?

Surveillance on all phone calls? Biometrics and files on everyone? Tracking everyones movements?

Use technology to look through all buildings and listen to all conversations?

Would I "allow" the government to protect us through a panopticon? As interesting and supposedly empowering as that may sound, I'm pretty sure that I have little or no control over what the government will do today ... or tomorrow ... nor especially the decade after that. Welcome to the future!

Well, if you ( general) have reason to suspect that a particular person is holding someone captive, by all means report them to the police until then though do not get in everyone's business.

I had to look up "panopticon". No, they have much better technology than doing this.

This is true. However, Americans are accustomed to having a right to privacy; it's part of the 4th Amendment. This does not extend to public places. If you aren't in your home, you have no legal expectation of privacy.

Yep.
However, they still ( with very few exceptions) may not search you, so you do in that sense still have privacy of your person.

There is a way to prevent this from happening. The question is are you willing for your idol of privacy to be knocked downed. For the hundred or maybe thousands of people in this situation right now, what do you say to them? (That's too bad?)

The American government has been deceived by the devil to SIN. Sin in many types of ways and one of those ways is not protecting it's citizens properly.

Then you have people that get mad at God and say "If there is a God why doesn't he protect people, why do bad things happened to good people?" Well because God gives people free will and they disobey God.

Every nation has been deceived by the devil.

If you don't want people in America to be better protected then you too have been deceived by the devil.

If you have a way of better protecting people then giving up this privacy non-sense, let's hear it.
I have said, I believe if anything we need to quit protecting people as much and maybe every loosen "safety" standards.

Oh, I know. It's not the actual technology that I'm most concerned with but the intent 'behind' the use of that technology in the name of some trumped up attempt to 'make the world a safer place.'

They're going to do what they want, and no one will be able to stop them. (...except One!)

New York use to have stop and frisk and it did a lot of good.

Don't you have a heart? There are much better ways to protect people

You are cruel. What about the hundreds or thousand of being being held captive right now in America?

If I knew someone was being held captive I would tell the law, but I am NOT ( and most Americans would agree I am NOT going to willingly allow the government to watch my every move or listen to my every word in the name of "protection".

Yes, the government will do what they want. I'm more afraid of criminals than the government.

Don't you have a heart? There are much better ways to protect people
and it also violates the forth amendment to stop people for no reason
