The term "White Privilege" has been used as a justification for internal racism and personal racism in general. You need to rethink your priorities if it causing more harm then good.
Badly used≠doesn’t exist.

I consider people such as yourself as a lost cause. I don't expect to impact you all in any positive way. I am not really speaking to you all. I am really speaking to the less radical readers who are following this conversation.

My message is that your side has a point (re White Privilege is real) but we should not bow to your tactics (intimidation, shame). Instead, we (white Christians) should accept our privilege with thanks and humility.

Unfortunately, your side is unsatisfied with our thanks and humility. It seems that you want a revolution.
Why should white folks drive the racial narrative?

People on this thread are grossly mischaracterizing us. We have parodies of “SJW’s” being presented as reality. I’d like to see the actual words and teachings of those speaking up about white privilege used if you want to criticize us, rather than putting up straw men. I’ve never used shame or intimidation when talking about white privilege.
On a friendly note, since "SJW" is too negative, what is a short name that I can call your side?
ps. I also agree with your side that we should listen more to less privileged voices. As a missionary, I am trained to do so and have learned a lot.

You might wanna edit this if you do not wished to get sued.
I got a laugh out of that because one could sue everyone I have worked with for the past 25 years.

I worked at my daughter's junior high school for a year and when they needed another teacher, I recommended an American friend who wanted to return to Taiwan. The boss directly asked me with concern, "Is she black?" I showed him her Facebook photos and he was relieved to see her whiteness. He gave me permission to invite her. She did a great job and they liked her more than they liked me.

I should get them sued! :burglar:

I don't suggest whites drive the conversation. I suggest others speak up and join the conversation. They are doing so now and that is good. What is not good is when people try to silence whites. I'm all for more speech and more listening. Unfortunately, when public figures call for a national conversation about race, they always imply that Whites and especially conservatives should shut up and listen.

When I worked in Burger King there was a black crew-leader over me named John. John and I became friends and when visiting his apartment I asked him why he was renting a TV instead of waiting to buy one later. He told me his point of view, that having a TV now was worth paying more in the long run. That was no great racial epiphany, but I live what I preach concerning speaking and listening. (I was also poor and had no TV)

I fail to see how that's relevant.

I'd like to see minorities and other disadvantaged groups be accepted as equals and not some kind of "other" or exception. I'm implying that they are not currently accepted as equals.
You fail to see how that’s relevant. Iluvatant why would that be so? As to minority’s which minority’s do you see as not equal. I have been taught all people are of equal standing but certainly not of equal authority as that all depends on what they do in life.

If the term been used mostly in a racist context against whites then the description term "white privilege" needs to be abandon and replace with something else.

You mean like we can't use "gay" to mean "happy" anymore?

I agree with most of this. Most American conservatives feel the same as you. That is why they tend not to go to minority communities and tell people what to do.

It's the American Liberals, and before that, it was the British liberals, who major in White Saviorism.

That hasn't been my personal experience in the almost three decades I've been involved in social justice and political activism or in my involvement within various Native American circles.

Liberals, like myself, certainly are involved in social justice and political activism, but I've never heard a liberal tell minorities to get over the past, stop playing the victim, stop using the race card, and stop spreading white guilt. I have never heard a liberal accuse other people of being racist simply because they address racism against minorities either. I cannot honestly say the same about conservatives.

That is alarming and not funny at all. I understand you are working in another culture, but I’d encourage you to consider how you can be one of the ppl creating more opportunities for black people rather than upholding the racist status quo.

I’m fine with “liberals.” However, I am fine with copying the SJW label. It fits the work I do.

More like the swastika symbol.

And to a great extent, the misuse of the name of Jesus by the culture gang for who Jesus is only a gang sign has already resulted in what Paul wrote:

"As it is written, the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."

That is something worth considering.

“Whites’” POV is the racist society we all find ensconced...whites ought to listen 80% of the time.
There be racists in every culture. Africans, Caucasians and Asians included. Not much we can do about that, as only God change a persons heart, unless of course you want to fill your heart with hatred and become a racist too.

Which “minority” owns most of the Wealth?
Why might that be?

Which minority owns most of the wealth. Well they don’t own mine. Nor do I demand from others what does not belong me. Do you really think giving everyone’s wealth away would change the racial divide. Might make a lot of envious people happy for awhile. But in the end every country and economy would be broke.

Here is what the Bible says in an issue similar to White Privilege:

James 1
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, a whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
....................................
9Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

So by application of God's word: For the faithful, trials produce spiritual maturity. Christians of low privilege have more trials and more opportunities to become more spiritually whole.

Black Christians (and all those in humble circumstances on Earth) should be proud because God actually sees them as highly privileged to suffer and become spiritually mature. This will lead to a larger eternal reward.

Whites (and all those of earthly high privilege) are actually seen by God as disposable. Even if faithful, their lesser suffering will lead to lesser spiritual maturity and presumably a lesser reward in heaven.

Caveat: God judges individuals and some Blacks, like President Obama, are more privileged than most whites. Likewise, some whites are less privileged than the average black person.
