When God says he will save a 'remnant' I believe he has.
I believe He has as well, and did so back In the first century. Paul claims to be one of them.
I believe Paul.

The children of Israel were of mixed ethnicity from the beginning, and intermarried within and without Israel, so how can they have any recognizable genetic signature today?
They can’t.
Faith and obedience are the only two chromosomes that matter.

If God wants to resurrect a tribe of Israel he can start with a few that he has protected.

No one who rejects the son has any special protection from the Father.
To claim such is Blasphemy.

If God wants to resurrect a tribe of Israel he can do so from a pile of rocks.

He doesn’t require any Britains.

Tell that to the Palestinian family who's home they've lived in for 5 generations was Just Bulldozed to make way for a "Biblically prophesied Jewish settlement", and their sons were Killed by Israelis for throwing rocks rocks at the bulldozers, or even less.

Remind them how when Israel became a nation, they asked the Arabs living in Israel to remain there and help build the country. Some did stay and are productive citizens of Israel today with even some of them holding seats in the Knesset. But that the Arab nations around them told these people in 1948 to leave as they were going to push the Jews into the sea. Those that left become the so-called "Palestinian" refugees. No Arab nation would accept them. Calling them Palestinians did not happen until 1964 when the PLO was formed. Up till then they were just considered Arabs. These folks are held hostage to Arab whims. The UN pays big money and supplies to help these folks, but it all gets siphoned off for terrorist activities. The people suffer and the blame gets thrown on Israel.

There are no Palestinians. There never was a Palestine nation or tribe. It is all propaganda and these folks are just fodder to use in the media war against Israel.

Two great works out there. "From Time Immemorial" by Joan Peters. A Israel rejecting investigative reporter who started out to show how Israel was the bad guy. She ended up admitting that she had it all wrong and the Israel is not the bad guy here.

Also, "The Secret War Against the Jews" by John Loftus and Mark Aarons shows how western espionage and intrigue has helped prop up the so-called Palestinian idea and tried to thwart Israel at every turn and even try to hamstring Israel's ability to defend itself by handing over major intelligence to the Arabs.

Goebbels was right. Tell a lie long and loud enough and it eventually becomes the truth. The Arabs really picked up on that tactic well.

Do you not see that as a contradiction?

Not at all. They are hidden from the world but God knows who they are. Think what would happen if they were formerly revealed.

What former days?

When the writer of Hebrews says “these last days”, he is encompassing the time of his writing as well as the time of Christ’s earthly ministry decades earlier… They are the same “these last days” both before and after the crucifixion.

The former days mentioned in verse 1.

Hebrews 1 King James Version (KJV)

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

I believe these were fulfilled in Jesus' birth. "Line of Judah"; "Son of David"; "Son of Abraham"; "Root of Jesse".

That was the 'scepter' promise. The birthright is a different promise.

1 Chronicles 5:2
For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's...

The birthright promise has nothing to do with the scepter promise, although many conflate the two. What the birthright promise did however, was create an environment for the gospel to be preached in it's fullness. In other words God's word took root in those nations to whom the birthright promise was enjoyed in it's fullness.

The end wasn't their lifetime - it was the coming of the Son of Man (a reference to the prophecy of Daniel).

I see it as an allusion to the fact that the "lost sheep of the house of Israel" to whom they were sent, would be nearly global in scope by the time Jesus returns. When one says "Truly I say to you"... it means listen carefully as there might be a hidden meaning here. Recall the thief on the cross. Jesus used the same technique of "Truly I say unto you...". Billions have misunderstood that passage to mean the thief would be in heaven with Jesus, when in reality Jesus meant the restored earth during his millennial rule. Also missed is the fact that both thieves would be resurrected and given the opportunity for eternal life.

I don't know if there is an official date for the beginning of the last days, but it is generally accepted that it began with the death of Christ and the formation of the NT church. Regardless, it was a major turning point is history in regard to God's plan of redemption.

Again, scripture is clear that the last days were already underway during Christs earthly ministry, so it would be wholly incorrect to state they began with the death of Christ.
and the formation of the NT church.

So your claim is that the FIRST days of the Church were also it's LAST days?

The Church was Born on the Last days of the Church and those First/Last Days were happening 2000 years ago and continue today?

What then, would you say the period of, say 1392 AD - 1466 AD, was?
What were those specific 72 years the "last days" of exactly?

You do claim those 72 years were indeed years correctly defined as the biblical "last days", right?

The last days is the whole period from Christ until the end time and the return of Christ. Imagine the last half of a football game. Its just as long as the first half...but it's the last half. Regarding the biblical 'game' it's simply a 'first and last' thing, divided by the time of Christ.

In other words God's word took root in those nations to whom the birthright promise was enjoyed in it's fullness.
I feel the need to preface this post with the disclaimer that most of this "end time" study is very new to me (within the last few months) - so, while I may be quite a bit behind a lot of you and am a bit wobbly, this isn't the ONLY view I've been exposed to.

I believe you're of this belief and would agree with this (am I correct?):

Quoting "The Trumpet" article:
In passing on the birthright promise the dying Jacob (Israel) said of Ephraim and Manasseh, sons of Joseph, “… let my name be named on them” (Genesis 48:16). Hence it is they—the descendants of Ephraim (the British) and Manasseh (Americans)—not the Jews, who are referred to in prophecy under the names of Jacob or Israel. Continuing, Jacob added, “… and let them grow into a multitude.”

Then, speaking of Manasseh and his descendants alone, Jacob said prophetically: “… he also shall become a people [nation], and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother [Ephraim] shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude [a company, or commonwealth] of nations” (verse 19)
.

.....and what I believe is incorrect about this view - above - is that it's overlooking the premise of Scripture that points to Jesus as the promised Messiah and the building of His Kingdom.

Quoting Todd Dennis: Another aspect of the Lord God's covenant with his people: the promise of Messiah. In Genesis 49, Jacob announces God's blessings upon each child/tribe. The blessing for Judah was very significant, however, as God, through Jacob, proclaims that "the scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be" (v. 10). So we see a the transmission of the covenant to both Ephraim (birthright) and Judah (scepter). From Judah's blessing we can see the continuing prophecy of the coming Messiah, which will save God's people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). Another very interesting aspect of this blessing is the proclamation that "unto him (Shiloh/the Messiah) shall the gathering of the people be" (v.10).

Before we understand the meaning of this, we must see more of the history of the nation of people called by the name "Israel".

After Isaac and Joseph died, there arose a king which knew not Joseph, and became fearful of the people of Israel for their multitude. He enslaved them, and, eventually, God sent them a deliverer in Moses. Explaining to Moses His plan for the people Israel, the Lord God said,

"I am the Lord: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. And I have established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God" (Exodus 6:2-7).

In the following chapters we see that God does indeed deliver them from their "burdens" and "bondage", and brings them out of Egypt to the outskirts of the land of promise. At mount Sinai, God enters into a covenant with Israel which had nothing to do with the land of promise, but entirely upon the three great promises that, "if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me..: and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation" (Exodus 19:5,6). Within the space of forty days, they broke this covenant. God was minded to destroy the people, and make of Moses a great people, which He could lawfully do, as Moses was a direct descendant of Abraham. Moses then entreated God to not destroy the nation, which He determined not to do. Then, in the land of Moab, God made a substituted (Deut. 29:1), bloodless covenant, which had nothing to do with these eternal promises, and everything to do with the terms of their obedience relative to the land upon which they were heading to enter (See God's Promises Through Moses To Israel). This covenant was clearly conditional upon their obedience (Deut. 28:15,22-26). This covenant confirmed the everlasting covenant given to Abraham and all Israel that, through faith in Jesus Christ, they "shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation" if they "obey my (God's) voice indeed, and keep my covenant".

The everlasting Covenant was made with Jesus Christ, and is redeemable through the self-sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ made the regathering of Israel, and citizenship in the kingdom of God contingent upon his salvation (Deut. 4:27,28; John 14:6), thereby becoming a child of God (Romans 8:14). If children, we then become joint-heirs with Christ of the eternal inheritance. This is because of the nature of the 'last will and testament' of Jesus Christ, that, just as an earthly will and testament, includes an inheritance. This inheritance is only received through Christ, 'for where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.' (Heb. 9:16).

Through faith in Jesus Christ, whether Jew or Gentile, one is added to the 'body of Christ', which household of God is 'built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone' (Eph 2:20). The possession by Jesus Christ of the birthright (Matthew 21:38; Heb. 1:2), and scepter (Gen. 49:10; Acts 2:29-31) were given upon His fulfillment of the everlasting covenant, and demands that Israel is no longer a nation after the flesh, but the eternal nation of all saved throughout history (Ephesians 2:19-22) according to, and within, the Body of Jesus Christ. For through his death on the cross, Christ offered this same covenant to any who call upon his name, thereby taking hold of his covenant (Isaiah 56) by being 'fished in' (Jer 16:14-16; Luke 5:10).

This 'circumcision of the heart' makes them the 'holy nation', to which Christ referred in Matthew 21:43, and Peter confirmed in I Peter 2:9. Those not circumcised in the heart, whether of the nation of Israel according to the flesh or not, ceased having any portion, or position of authority before God when Shiloh came (Romans 9:6-9), and the temporal nation was destroyed in that same generation (Matthew 24:34). The scepter, and the Inheritance, were taken from Ephraim and Judah, and the kingdom given to Christ, just as it had been taken from Saul, and been given to David, in shadow. Now, according to scripture, "They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."

Interesting, but hardly relevant to the birthright promise, which was to be conferred to Joseph after all the events of the "former days" , and the death of Christ.

As stated before the conferring of the birthright blessing has everything to do with the latter day preaching of the gospel.

That said Christ will indeed possess both when he returns and will share both with mankind in the millennium. The resurrected disciples will share rulership, the scepter, with Christ, and the whole earth will enjoy the blessings of abundance.

It may not be relevant to YOUR understanding of the birthright promise - but it has everything to do with it.

Matthew 21:38 ~ But when the tenants saw the Son, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and take his inheritance.’

Hebrews 1:2 ~ But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.

As stated before the conferring of the birthright blessing has everything to do with the latter day preaching of the gospel.

That said Christ will indeed possess both when he returns and will share both with mankind in the millennium.
So you're suggesting that Christ does NOT already have the birthright nor the scepter? That you are waiting for the fulfillment of that off in the future (based on your use of future tense)?

It may not be relevant to YOUR understanding of the birthright promise - but it has everything to do with it.

Matthew 21:38 ~ But when the tenants saw the Son, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and take his inheritance.’

ISTM that you're quoting beliefs from the LDS manual.
Yes.
I actually brought that up on this other thread if you/others are interested

Titus sieges Jerusalem on Feast of Passover/Destroyer in Revelation

Mat 22:7
“But when the king heard about it, he was furious.
And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

What I see as saddest of all concerning Jerusalem in 70ad was the slaughter of thousands of innocent common Jews that came from all parts to simply celebrate Passover.
The Roman army and their cohorts were cruel and merciless, but also were the Jewish rebels/zealots whom also murdered 1000's of Jews before the Roman army even arrived.

This may be what Daniel 8:23 is referring to?

Dan 8:23

“In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a fierce-looking king, a master of intrigue, will arise.

Hos 5:2
The rebels are knee-deep in slaughter
. I will discipline all of them.

ROMAN SIEGE AND SACK OF JERUSALEM

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

While Jerusalem was a prey to these ferocious and devouring factions, every part of Judea was scourged and laid waste by bands of robbers and murderers,

While Jerusalem was a prey to these ferocious and devouring factions, every part of Judea was scourged and laid waste by bands of robbers and murderers, who plundered the towns; and, in case of resistance, slew the inhabitants, not sparing either women or children. Simon, son of Gioras, the commander of one of these bands, at the head of forty thousand banditti, having with some difficulty entered Jerusalem, gave birth to a third faction, and the flame of civil discord blazed out again, with still more destructive fury.
The three factions, rendered frantic by drunkenness, rage, and desperation, trampling on heaps of slain, fought against each other with brutal savageness and madness. Even such as brou't sacrifices to the temple were murdered.

I guess I'm not making my point very clear.

Originally, I had posted these verses (and posted that when I read what Jesus said - I believe Him):

Matthew 24:34; Mark 13:30; and Luke 21:32 ~ Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.” ~ Did the event of 1948 Israel fulfill any Bible prophecy?

......and then you responded with this:

Old Wise Guy said:
This interesting. Jesus knew that the "towns of Israel" were many and far away, thus the statement. They couldn't possibly have reached all the towns of the Israelites in their lifetime, although many tried. He may have been playing once again to their lack of understanding about his, and their, ministry.

.....to which I responded with this post:

The end wasn't their lifetime - it was the coming of the Son of Man (a reference to the prophecy of Daniel).

......and then you posted this in response (which seems to completely miss my point and has nothing to do with my post):

No, we are not interested in preterist nonsense!
Bringing up all that past stuff is not helpful to us today, as we face all the dramatic and earth shaking events of the end times.

More 'red herrings', we all read the Bible and we all live in a world far from the ideal as it will be when Jesus reigns.
God has given Jesus the Kingly authority, Psalms 2 and 110, we await the fulfilment of everything prophesied for the end times, before the glorious Return of Jesus for His Millennium reign.
