White conservatives, much too frequently, fail to see systemic racism against non-whites...

Why is systemic racism the only explanation for all ills, perceived or real?

BTW, in most cases, is it a white man or a black man who hires NFL players?

It must be racism. What else could it be?

Research seems to suggest that racism is a problem among Evangelicals. Nevermind the "Trump supporters are racist" argument - there's other evidences that we've got some serious work to do. But we're so segregated that this problem doesn't seem apparent. This article takes things a bit deeper, detailing the story of a white pastor facing his own racism, and the implications it has for moving forward.

What is the actual evidence?

From the article, quote:

"Nevermind the "Trump supporters are racist" argument - there's other evidences that we've got some serious work to do."

Notice the wording? The assertion itself serves as proof of the assertion. The "other evidences," which never truly gets cited, serves as proof of any additional assertions stemming from the truth of the original assertion.

Evangelicals are racist because this guy said so.

I'm open to evidence. What I've concluded about this movement, seeming to sweep into the evangelical Church, is it's an attempt to stir up racism. People are confused as ever as to what constitutes racism and whether or not they should be suspicious of their brothers and sisters of other shades.

I hope n pray true Christians, of all shades, will see through this is. America faces a lot of problems, and the Church faces a lot of problems, and the devil would love for us to continue to decline and become suspicious race baiters.

Somewhere along the line context must be considered.

During a...discussion...I once engaged in with a third-wave feminist on the issue of institutionalized racism she looked at me and starting harping "what color is a band-aid? Huh? Huh? WHAT COLOR IS A BAND-AIIIIIIIIID?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

That question, however idiotic, illustrates the context dilemma.

Liberals see the standard issue color of a band-aid and immediately envision a group of evil white men sitting around a large rectangular table all smoking cigars laughing and snorting over how they are going to stick it to all minorities with the color of a band-aid because racism. Because they hate all minorities and revel in their hate.

Conservatives look at a band-aid and see a band-aid, something designed for application to small cuts on the skin.

When the question of actual racism arises, Conservatives look at racism and call it racism regardless form where it hails.

Liberals see racism solely as a function of skin color.
What a joke. No liberal believes what you say we believe in this post. No wonder you do t understand where we’re coming from.

How do you tell the difference between virtue signaling and genuine expressions?
The main difference is the expected result. Does anyone expect that telling a random bunch of people on the internet that they have a problem with racism is going to reduce racism? Not likely. The expected result is arguments and disagreement with no reduction in racism.

The next Virtue signaling result is the division between "us" and "them". The virtue signaling accusers assume both victim status and moral superiority over the accused. The more the accused defend themselves, the more guilty/racist/evil they are assumed to be. (The accused are so racist that they can't even see their racism when confronted by it.)

Thus the accusers/victims feel morally validated but nothing is actually done to alleviate actual racism. That is the essence of virtue signaling.

If someone was serious about reducing racism they would operate differently.

When white churches attempt any level of integration campaign, especially the churches that are successful, all manner of racist issues get stirred up. Let's be careful not to downplay the issue.
The issue you refer to is not racism. Attempting to integrate a white church with white homeless people or white former prostitutes and drug addicts will also stir up issues. It is primarily an issue of cultural similarity, not skin color similarity.

Similarly, a Black church would have the same issues if they tried to integrate White or Asian people, or even Black street people into their church.

I finally read the OP's link. I assumed it would show some data about evangelical racism. Nope.

It is just one person's journey to overcome his own racism and projecting his problems on others. (I think his real problem is judging others)
On the one hand, I value it as a testimony.
On the other hand, we have no idea who he is. No name, location or clear assertion that he is, in fact, an evangelical pastor. It could be pure social justice propaganda. We can't tell.

Tellingly, the testimony never refers to God, Jesus, or the Bible. It is quite unusual for an "Evangelical pastor" struggling with sin (racism) to leave out God and his word and how it helped him.

Clear evidence, at least for me, the article wasn't written by a Christian Evangelical pastor but yet rather, in all probability, by a leftist who knew his target audience would embrace his assertions without question.

Your description of what liberals think about how band aid colors are chosen has no basis in reality. No one thinks that.

You do understand the example I gave, even though taken from an actual conversation with a liberal feminist, was an example to illustrate a broader point. Therefore yes, my description has a solid basis in reality because liberals do tend to filter everything through the prism of race first and logic a far distant twenty-fifth or twenty-sixth.

I have never heard any liberal ever express an opinion like that in the nearly 30 years I've been involved in social justice and political activism. Not once. I think it's kind of amusing to see some conservative insist that liberals all believe the same things. I guess liberals should be more like the other side of the political realm and live in an echo chamber where they "yes man" each other.

White conservatives, much too frequently, fail to see systemic racism against non-whites, and never admit to their own personal bias towards whites. If you're implying that conservatives do a better job with the problem of racism in our country, I can't agree with you.

The only "racist liberals" I've ever encountered during my long involvement in political activism has been online. And to be honest, I doubt the people claiming to be liberal are actually liberal. Of course, I can't determine that for certain, but I genuinely doubt their honesty based on my own experience of nearly 30 years in political activism and environmentalism. I've shared the following examples before, but I thought I would share them again because of the topic. On a personal note, I will say that being politically active for several years (almost three decades in my case) certainly does open your eyes.

(1) It has been conservatives, not liberals, who have cursed me and have been aggressive toward me for refusing to stand for the National Anthem or for refusing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

(2) It has been conservatives, not liberals, who have cursed me and have been verbally aggressive toward me for holding the American flag upside down during a public protest and demonstration.

(3) It has been conservatives, not liberals, who have been consistently opposed over the years to my activism efforts concerning Native American and LGBT related political and social justice issues.

(4) It has been conservatives, not liberals, who have repeatedly cursed at me and told me that if I don't love America, then I can get the you know what out of the country and never come back.

(5) It has been conservatives, not liberals, who have consistently mocked, insulted, disrespected, demeaned and disparaged Native Americans and their heritage and culture over the years.

(6) It has been liberals, not conservatives, who have been consistently compassionate and supportive of me during all the years I have been involved in political and social justice activism.

I am willing to assume that at least one liberal expresses such an opinion. Unless you really do have an echo chamber.

I don't know how it is that you know what every liberal thinks, but I certainly have heard liberals say things very similar to what you are claiming "no liberal" believes. Those didn't happen to deal with Band-Aids but were supposed by them to be about race or racism although the events had nothing to do with race.
