Someone has to be. I don't think geneticists actually know what they're looking for. God knows who is a descendant of Israel, if no one else does. Perhaps He inspired the study of British Israelism. If "not a grain (seed) will fall to earth" I have to take that as truth.

"I don't think" is not a particularly compelling argument. Are you a geneticist?

Try reading some of the links which parousia70 posted. Begin with the mathematical basis of genetic ubiquity.

Physical DNA has for years been established as proven science in medicine, forensics, et al.

But it is and has ever been irrelevant as God's covenant criterion (Genesis 17:12). The Jewish genome's ubiquity today is merely a contemporary confirmation of that reality.

Only spiritual DNA counts, and has ever counted.

Two chromosomes.

Faith and obedience.

British Israelism or THT (two house theology) comes from reading the old testament through the lens of the old covenant. However, this is improper, as the old covenant no longer exists. We should interpret the NT through the lens of the NT, as the apostles do:

Those disobedient under the OC in the northern kingdom (Ephraim, house of Israel) were divorced by God

Jeremiah 3:8 She saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, I had sent her away with a decree of divorce. Yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but she too went and played the harlot

Those disobedient under the OC in the northern kingdom became "not my people" and God became "not your God".

Hosea 1:9 And the Lord said, “Call his name Not My People, for you are not my people, and I am not your God.”

God promised to mix the disobedient northern kingdom with the nations

Hosea 7:8 Ephraim mixes himself with the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

God promised that due to the northern kingdom's (Ephraim, house of Israel) disobedience under the old covenant, he would scatter them among the nations, with the exception of a remnant.

Amos 9:9-10 For behold, I will command, and shake the house of Israel among all the nations
as one shakes with a sieve
, but no grain shall fall to the earth.

Thus, God removed the disobedient northern kingdom. And therefore, by God divorcing the northern kingdom so that they would become "not my people", they became as gentiles. This is important to remember because of Romans 9:24-26.

2 Kings 17:18 Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight. None was left but the tribe of Judah only.

However, despite the kingdom of Judah's sin, God would remain in covenant with them

Hosea 1:6-7 Gomer again conceived and gave birth to a daughter, and the LORD said to Hosea, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have compassion on the house of Israel, that I should ever forgive them. Yet I will have compassion on the house of Judah, and I will deliver them

The kingdom of Judah consisted of more than just descendants of Judah after the Assyrian exile. It consisted of descendants of Levi, Benjamin, AND the northern kingdom.
Thus, I would argue the term Jew refers to those who come from the kingdom of Judah: descendants of Judah, Benjamin, Levi, and the assimilated remnant of northern kingdom.

2 chronicles 30:27 A large number of the people—many from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun—had not purified themselves, yet they ate the Passover, contrary to what was written. Then the priests and the Levites arose and blessed the people, and their voice was heard, and their prayer came to his holy habitation in heaven.

By God mixing the divorced northern kingdom (Ephraim) with surrounding nations, Ephraim would become a fullness of nations, thus fulfilling an old testament promise.

Genesis 48:19 But his father refused. “I know, my son, I know!” he said. “He too shall become a people, and he too shall be great; nevertheless, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his offspring shall become a multitude of nations.”

However, God promised that one day the descendants of the northern kingdom would once again become his people and that God would be their God, and they would be under one head.

Hosea 1:10-11 Yet the number of the Israelites will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or numbered. And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’ Then the people of Judah and of Israel will be gathered together, and they will appoint for themselves one head, and will go up out of the land. For great will be the day of Jezreel.

Hosea 2:23 And I will sow her as My own in the land, and I will have compassion on ‘No Compassion.’h
I will say to those called ‘Not My People,’i ‘You are My people,’ and they will say, ‘You are my God.’”

Ezekiel 37:21-22 you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take the Israelites out of the nations to which they have gone, and I will gather them from all around and bring them into their own land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule over all of them. Then they will no longer be two nations and will never again be divided into two kingdoms.

God also promised that the descendants of the barren woman (divorced northern kingdom) would be more than that of the married woman (OC kingdom of Judah) in Isaiah 54:1

Isaiah 54:1 “Shout for joy, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth into song and cry aloud, you who have never travailed; because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband
,”

In Isaiah 11:10-13, God also promised that he would raise up a signal for the nations from the root of Jesse, which would, which result in the nations giving glory to God. This would result in Ephraim and Judah being gathered and enmity between Judah and Ephraim being removed.

Isaiah 11:10-13 In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples—of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious. In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush,a from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.
He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart, and those who harass Judah shall be cut off;

Now, it is VERY IMPORTANT to notice that Paul has Hosea 1:10 and Hosea 2:23 as fulfilled with the inclusion of the gentiles with the Jews into the vessels of mercy. Thus, by God including the gentiles, of whom some have descended from the divorced northern kingdom, with the remnant of Jews into the vessels of mercy, he fulfills his promise to Ephraim.

Romans 9:24-27 including us, whom He has called not only from the Jews, but also from the Gentiles? As He says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘My People’ who are not My people, and I will call her ‘My Beloved’ who is not My beloved,”h and, “It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”

It is VERY IMPORTANT to notice that Paul has Isaiah 54:1 with those who are under the new covenant. Paul, from the tribe of Benjamin, and not the northern kingdom, counts himself as one of the children of the desolate woman, who is allegorically related to the new covenant. Thus, the children of the new covenant: Jew and Gentile, are more than that of the children of the old covenant: the jews who rejected Christ and remained under the OC.

Galatians 4:24-27 These things serve as illustrations, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present-day Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have never travailed;
because more are the children of the desolate woman, than of her who has a husband
.”

It is VERY IMPROTANT to notice that Paul has Isaiah 11:10 fulfilled with gentiles glorifying God because of the 1st advent of Christ.

Romans 15:8-9, 12 For I tell you that Christ became a servant to the circumcised to show God’s truthfulness, in order to confirm the promises given to the patriarchs, and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written. And again Isaiah says,“The root of Jesse will come,
even he who arises to rule the Gentiles;in him will the Gentiles hope
.”

It is VERY IMPORTANT to notice that Paul has the enmity between Jew and Gentile abolished through Christ, so that the two are now one under ONE HEAD. Thus by God including the gentiles, of whom some had descended from the divorced northern kingdom, with the Jews into the body of Christ he fulfills his promise to remove the enmity between Judah and Ephraim and bring them under one head, who is the king Jesus.

Ephesians 2:12-16 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has torn down the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing in His flesh the law of commandments and decrees. He did this to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace and reconciling both of them to God in one body through the cross, by which He extinguished their hostility.

Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent

Under the new covenant it is worthless to talk of genealogies, whether someone is from this tribe or that tribe or this house or that house, because we are all one, Jew and gentile, in Christ under the new covenant. We are all offspring of Abraham and heirs according to the promise if we are in Christ, regardless of race, tribe or nationality.

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, arguments, and quarrels about the law, because these things are pointless and worthless

British Israelism or THT and even some forms of dispensationalism, separate the promises of God to different recipients, when in reality it's one people, the body of Christ, regardless of race tribe or nationality, that are the children of Abraham and heirs according to the promise.

Galatians 3:28-29 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.

Yes, believing in Christ by faith for salvation, thus chosen as His elect and added to His Church, then living in continuing faith in and obedience to Him.

Impossible by any [modern] form of Jewishness.
jgr, I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to make one change to your statement because it's often overlooked that Christianity began with Judaism (and faith and obedience were how people became the "True Israel of God" all along). The confusion is that modern Jewishness is completely different than the pre-desolation form of Judaism (as you know). I just wanted to emphasize that point for the sake of others.

That's a legitimate consideration, mkgal1. However, I'm sure you'd agreed that since Calvary, no form of Judaism, even the pre-desolation "classical" form, has fulfilled, or ever could fulfill, God's covenant requirements, or meet with His covenant approval.

And of course, Talmudism had replaced classical Judaism even by Jesus' day.

Therefore they do not come under that verse that the two shall become one and the enmity is removed. they are still for all practical purposes under the law. Has God FORGOTTEN these? No, His promise to the Jews and Hebrews still holds. One Third of those whom today are not born again will come through the fire, and will one day acknowledge Jesus as Their Messiah- and they will be allowed into the Millennial Kingdom of Christ.

Not possible, according to John:

1 John 2
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

So - do you see a difference between those that live in Israel today and the rest that live in other locations? What about them? Do you believe God has separate standards for them?

Didn't Jesus say to the Samaritan woman (when she asked about the different locations where people worshiped God):

John 4:21 ~ "Believe Me, woman," Jesus replied, "a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

John 4:23 ~ But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him.

They have to be somewhere. Prophecy has them still around in the last days and beyond.
Only if you don't believe that those prophecies have been fulfilled yet. I don't know about the "and beyond" part.

Some of us believe the "last days" or the "time of the end" that was prophesied have already been fulfilled (and that the "last days" were the final days of the Temple in ancient Jerusalem and its religious system).

This is a metaphor. Certainly there are Jews, Greeks, males and females. You cannot 'spiritualize' away meanings intended to be understood literally.

Have the Jews been reconciled to Christ, or to the house of Israel? Christ died for everyone, but has everyone accepted his sacrifice? Have the Jews?

The last days refer to the period of time beginning with the death of Christ until the end. The end time is the very end of the last days, the tribulation period and the return of Christ.

The point is about the lack of division - lack of hierarchy - lack of genetic/familial preference - and, instead, equality.

The last days refer to the period of time beginning with the death of Christ until the end. The end time is the very end of the last days, the tribulation period and the return of Christ.
That's one school of thought - however.....I believe that when Jesus said this, He meant it:

Matthew 24:34; Mark 13:30; and Luke 21:32 ~ Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.”

You MISSED something: many of those living in Israel today love God but still don't know Jesus as their Savior.

JGR hit the nail on the head Did the event of 1948 Israel fulfill any Bible prophecy?

Additionally none of this surmounts the verse where Paul has the enmity between Jew and Gentile ended, or where Paul quotes hosea 1:10 and 2:23 as being fulfilled with the inclusion of the gentiles with the jews in the vessels of mercy.

I don't believe the birthright blessings have been shared equally.
I believe it's been mentioned already in this thread - that all the way back to Genesis, it was NEVER about "pure bloodlines" or literal "birthrights":

Genesis 17:12 ~ Generation after generation, every male must be circumcised when he is eight days old, including those born in your household and those purchased from a foreigner—even those who are not your offspring.
