This prophecy is spoken by God before Israel even entered into the holy land. Chronologically, this prophecy fulfills after the scattering of the Jews all over the world.

Deuteronomy 30:1-10 Modern English Version (MEV)
The Promise of Restoration
30 When all these things happen to you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you remember them among all the nations, where the Lord your God has driven you, 2 then you must return to the Lord your God and obey His voice according to all that I am commanding you today, you and your children, with all your heart, and with all your soul. 3 Then the Lord your God will overturn your captivity and have compassion on you and will return and gather you from all the nations, where the Lord your God has scattered you. 4 If any of you are driven out to the outmost parts of heaven, from there will the Lord your God gather you, and from there He will get you. 5 The Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. 6 The Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live. 7 The Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies, on them who hate you, who persecuted you. 8 You will return and obey the voice of the Lord, and obey all His commandments which I am commanding you today. 9 The Lord your God will make you prosper in every work of your hand, in the offspring of your body, and in the offspring of your livestock, and in the produce of your land, for good. For the Lord will once again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers, 10 if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, by keeping His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you return to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

This is the same prophecy:

Isaiah 60:8-10, 1537 Matthew's Bible

60:8 But what are these that fle here like the cloudes, and as the doues flyenge to their wyndowes?
60:9 The Iles also shall gather them vnto me, and specially the shippes of the sea: that they maye bringe the sonnes from farre, and their syluer and their goulde with them, vnto the name of the Lorde thy God, vnto the holye one of Israel, that hath glorifyed the.
60:10 Straungers shall buylde vp thy walles, and their kinges shall do thy seruice. For when I am angrie, I smyte the: & when it pleaseth me, I pardon the.

Same prophecy, KJV

8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

Isaiah 60:8-10 New Living Translation (NLT)
8 “And what do I see flying like clouds to Israel,
like doves to their nests?
9 They are ships from the ends of the earth,
from lands that trust in me,
led by the great ships of Tarshish.
They are bringing the people of Israel home from far away,
carrying their silver and gold.
They will honor the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel,
for he has filled you with splendor.
10 “Foreigners will come to rebuild your towns,
and their kings will serve you.
For though I have destroyed you in my anger,
I will now have mercy on you through my grace.

Interpretation of Isaiah 60:8-9,
"60:8, 9 Plane-loads of Israel's sons and exiles return to Israel like flocks of birds, along with large ships bringing their accumulated wealth with them" (Bible Believer's Commentary).

This article mainly focuses on the fulfillment of prophecies in Isaiah 60:1-10.
Welcome to this forum.
Your article is interesting, but I do not see it as the fulfilment of the prophecy in Isaiah 60. You should note that in Isaiah 60:21, it is only the righteous people who will occupy the holy Land.
The plain fact is that Judah has come back, but in apostasy and the House of Israel; the ten Northern tribes still await their return. It is those people who, while in exile; have accepted the Gospel and who will be the people God always wanted in His Land, but has never yet had. His Witnesses, Isaiah 43:10, John 15:27 and His Light to the nations. Isaiah 49:8, Matthew 5:14-16
Soon the Lord will clear and cleanse all of the holy Land, Deuteronomy 32:34-43, Zephaniah 1:14-18, +, and all the true descendants of Jacob will travel to there. Ezekiel 20:34-38, Isaiah 35:1-10, +
Psalms 107 describes this migration very well.

I would like to have seen the title include "Jerusalem back in the hands of the Jews".

The title being the 1967 six day war kinda hides that fact.
Ok.............

Right. You need to read the post. I mentioned how the second half of Isaiah 60 is not fulfilled. Isaiah 60:1-10 is very fulfilled.

Isaiah 60:1-2 -- fulfilled when Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven.
Isaiah 60:3 -- this verse reached its complete fulfillment in what historians call Christendom.
Isaiah 60:8 -- this prophecy was first fulfilled by the Write Brothers and later when Jews arrived in Israel by airplane.
Isaiah 60:10 -- The newly reestablished Israeli State in 1948.

Deut.30:1-10 also fulfilled with Isaiah.

“Today this Scripture is fulfilled<4137> in your hearing.”

This was fulfilled in the 1st century destruction of Jerusalem.........

Luke 21
:
22 That days of vengeance<1557> these are, of the to be fulfilled<4130> all the having been written
23 “But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
For there will be great Distress in the land and Wrath<3709> upon this people.

Isaiah 60:1-10 is very fulfilled.
I do not see how any of Isaiah 60 is fulfilled. The return of Judah to the Land does not relate to this prophecy.
The Appointed time: Habakkuk 2:3

Isaiah 60:1-22 Arise! Shine, Jerusalem, for your light has come – over you the glory of the Lord has dawned. Though darkness covers the earth, on you the Lord shines. Over you His glory will appear. Nations and kings will come to your light. Look – your sons and daughters are coming from afar, all assembling in the Land. You will rejoice at the sight. The wealth of nations will be yours. Droves of camels laden with treasure will come and flocks of sheep will cover the Land, acceptable offerings for My altar and to enhance the splendour of My Temple.

Who are these that sail along like clouds? They are vessels assembling from the coasts and islands bringing your children from far away, their treasures with them, for the honour of the Holy One of Israel. In My wrath, I struck you down, now in My favour I show you pity. Foreigners and kings will work for you.

For the nation that refuses to serve you will perish, there will be widespread devastation among such nations. The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, to adorn My holy sanctuary. All who reviled you shall pay you homage, calling Jerusalem “The City of the Lord”. I shall give My Land and people everlasting renown. You will receive the best gifts from kings and the nations. Then you will acknowledge that your Redeemer is the Mighty One of Israel. For copper you shall have gold, for iron, silver. You will live in peace and righteousness will rule over you. No more will havoc and ruin be within your borders. Your walls will be deliverance and your gates, praise.

The sun and moon will no longer be your light, for the Lord will be your everlasting light. Your days of mourning will be ended. The Lord’s people, all of them righteous, will possess the Land forever. They are My own planting, the work of My hands for My adornment. The few will become a great nation.

At the appointed time, I, the Lord, will bring this swiftly to pass.
Psalm 102:12-22, Isaiah 49:8 Ref. REB. Some verses abridged.

‘At the Appointed time’: God has appointed times for His celebrations and actions. Acts 17:31 In Leviticus 23:24, He decreed that His people should observe the first day of the seventh month, as Yom Teruah; the day of Trumpet sounding. That day is Tishri 1 - the first of the fall feasts, usually coming in September. There was no explanation given by God for this reminder and the only time it has had significance was when Ezra read the Torah to the returned Jews. Nehemiah 8:1-6

But it seems probable that God has in mind a more dramatic fulfilment for this Day. There is coming a Day of vengeance and wrath, the Lord’s judgement/punishment of the nations, described many times as a Day of trumpet sounds and great noise heard around the world.

‘darkness covers the earth’: It may be months before the smoke and ash from thewidespread devastation’ of this disastrous fire from the sky clears. Jeremiah 4:23-27

However, this may also be allegorized: the darkness being people’s separation from God and the Lord our everlasting Light, those who enjoy the Lord’s favour.

The Lord’s people, all of them righteous, assembling from the coasts and islands’, Isaiah 49:8-11, Ezekiel 20:34. They travel on every type of transport to the new country of Beulah. Isaiah 62:1-5, Isaiah 66:20

‘Over you, His Glory will appear’, His Glory, not his presence. Then you will acknowledge your Redeemer’. The Return of Jesus for His Millennium reign will come later.

The wealth of nations will be yours’, This happened before; at the first Exodus, the Israelites took treasure from the Egyptians. Exodus 11:2

‘The splendour of My Temple’, One of the first projects of the new inhabitants of Beulah, will be to build the third Temple. The Temple mount will have been cleared and cleansed by the fires and earthquakes of the Lord’s punishment.

Correct.
Revelation 14:12 includes "and the faith of Jesus"

Luke 21:24

And they shall be falling to mouth of sword and they shall be being led captive into all the nations............[Revelation 13:10]

Rev 14:12
Here is the patience/endurance<5281> of the Saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus

Revelation 13:10
If any to-captivity, into captivity is going away.
If any in sword to be killed, is binding him in sword to be killed.
Here is the patience/endurance<5281> and the faith of the Saints.[Luke 21:24]

G5281 (NKJV)
G5281 ὑπομονή (hypomonē), occurs 32 times in 31 verses

5281. hupomone hoop-om-on-ay' from 5278;
cheerful (or hopeful) endurance, constancy:--enduring, patience, patient continuance (waiting).
In God's New Will and Testament, all covenants and promises are fulfilled in Christ and those who are in Christ.

The OT covenants and promises are the promissory clauses of God's Old Will and Testament, and they are both revoked and fulfilled in the promissory clauses of His New Will and Testament, written in the Blood of His Son Jesus Christ, the Divine Testator, coming into full force and effect upon His death.

If you have made your own Will and Testament, you will see that the very first clause states the following or its equivalent:

"I HEREBY REVOKE all former Wills and other testamentary dispositions by me at any time therefore made and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament."

This means that all former wills and testaments, and all of their promissory clauses in their entirety, are completely null and void. In their place, the promissory clauses of the current last new will and testament are the only ones in force and effect. Any promissory clause which appeared in the old will and testament, but does not appear in the new will and testament, is irrevocably null and void unless yet another new will and testament is made which re-includes it.

Thus we see:

Hebrews 9
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Hebrews 10
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Hebrews 8
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

God`s New Will and Testament is everlasting:

Hebrews 13
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant.

There is none greater.

We see other new promissory clauses of the New Will and Testament in:

Matthew 21:33-45
In this parable, the son, who is identified as the heir, typifies Christ.

Galatians 3:16
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Hebrews 1:1,2
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

In them, we see that the Heir and Beneficiary is Christ alone, that all of the promises are affirmed and confirmed in Him, and that He is Heir of all things. All includes the OT land promises, the restoration promises, the blessings promises, and all else. There are no exceptions.

And His New Will and Testament contains even better promises:

Hebrews 8
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Such as:

Hebrews 11
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Additional promissory clauses in...:

Romans 8:16-17
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

...make us who are in Christ joint heirs with Him.

But notice:
There are no promissory clauses for anyone, Jew or Gentile, who is not in Christ.

You are conflating the covenants with the birthright promise. Jesus is indeed heir of all things, but not yet the inheritor of all things. This won't occur until he returns. If Jesus has already inherited all things then Armageddon has happened and his millennial rule has begun.

Genesis 49 isn't a promise, it's a prophecy concerning the tribes of Israel fate in the latter days, which occurs sometime after the first advent. It confirms that the birthright promise will be kept. God went to great pains to protect the birthright promise and see to it that it went to the right tribes. Why would God say, in the same breath, that "the scepter was Judah's but the birthright was Joseph's" if he intended to annul the birthright when Jesus received the scepter?

And in point of fact the birthright promise will have already been fulfilled by the time Christ actually 'inherits all things'.

The key verse is Isaiah 60:3. Lets focus on the key verse. Its about gentile Christianity becoming great nations. When was this prophecy fulfilled?

The second half of the prophecy is about eternity. The first half is about all world history starting from the resurrection & ascension. Verse 3 is the key verse. When did the gentile nations become great by coming to the Jewish Messiah? Its not a hard prophecy to understand

The prophecies of Jacob and Moses to the 10 Northern tribes were fulfilled over the last 200 years, with the Western nations becoming powerful and prosperous. Britain and America did control the gateways of the world and are still by far the richest peoples.

But Isaiah 60 is a prophecy about a later time, when the Lord's people will gather into all of the holy Land. THAT is when the other nations will see their [our Christian] radiance.

The second half of the prophecy is about eternity.
Impossible!
Isaiah 60:16...then you will know that I the Lord; am your deliverer. This must be before the Return, let alone way before Eternity.

I realize this has been propagated for some time. There are a myriad of errors with Two House Theology / Ephraimite Movement which is just British Israelism warmed over and served yet again.

The major flaw is the assumption that there are 10 lost tribes. While adherents hold to the lost tribe stuff and even try to use Jewish Rabbinical writings to support that, there is ample support in many biblical based Christian circles and even liberal and orthodox Jewish sectors that the concept is severely flawed.

It has been shown in many posts to many threads, that between the books of 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah, there are 8 specific tribes listed, present , and far far from "lost".

You are conflating the covenants with the birthright promise. Jesus is indeed heir of all things, but not yet the inheritor of all things. This won't occur until he returns. If Jesus has already inherited all things then Armageddon has happened and his millennial rule has begun.

You fail to understand the definition, operation, and significance of a will and testament. Re-read Hebrews 9:17:

Hebrews 9
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Upon confirmation of the testator's death, an heir immediately assumes ownership and possession of everything bequeathed him in the testator's will and testament. There is no delay. The bequests are immediately “of force”.

Upon His death as Testator, Christ as Heir immediately assumed ownership and possession of everything bequeathed Him by His Father in the New Will and Testament in Christ's Blood.

Hebrews 1:2 tells us unmistakably what “everything” was. It was “all things”.

There were and are no exceptions to “all”, and “all” was immediately “of force”.

Armageddon and millennium notwithstanding.

Genesis 49 isn't a promise, it's a prophecy concerning the tribes of Israel fate in the latter days, which occurs sometime after the first advent. It confirms that the birthright promise will be kept. God went to great pains to protect the birthright promise and see to it that it went to the right tribes. Why would God say, in the same sentence, that "the scepter was Judah's but the birthright was Joseph's" if he intended to annul the birthright when Jesus received the scepter?

In Genesis 49, Jacob foretells forthcoming aspects of his son's lives.

Genesis 49:1 KJV
And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.

Genesis 49:1 NASB
Then Jacob summoned his sons and said, “Assemble yourselves that I may tell you what will befall you in the days to come.

Fulfillment occurred in their lifetimes.

There is no mention of Joseph's birthright in the New Testament, because the promises were made to, and are fulfilled in, Christ, and those in Christ (Galatians 3:16,28,29; Galatians 4:28; 2 Corinthians 1:20).

It has been shown in many posts to many threads, that between the books of 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah, there are 8 specific tribes listed, present , and far far from "lost".
Yes, there always was some intermingling of the tribes, esp when attackers came; many from the Northern tribes joined Judah to escape.
But the House of Israel, now uncountable; as many as the sands of the sea, prove that the majority migrated to new lands, where they are today. THEY accepted Christianity, while the Jews remain in their rejection of Jesus.

Of course you must reject this truth, as it blows apart your fav theory; the 'rapture to heaven'.

What rubbish! There is no Biblical or historical proof of this.
Obviously Jacob meant their descendants and we can see how some of it was fulfilled over the ages, still today.

Impossible!
Isaiah 60:16...then you will know that I the Lord; am your deliverer. This must be before the Return, let alone way before Eternity.

Well, you know, I don't really care about your church model because I guarantee you its wrong. No Puritan churches get much of anything right. They couldn't even get their own Bible right after over 100 revisions we still read:

Zechariah 9:9,

♦Geneva Bible:
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion: shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem: behold, thy king cometh unto thee: he is just, and saved himself ..."

So your church model is rooted in the translation of this Bible.

I have literally hundreds of sources from the earliest centuries of the Christian faith up to the most reliable sources of today. The early church did dogmatize the meaning of Isaiah 60:3 and that was the rise of Christendom through the gentile movement.

Verse 3 is a secure interpretation across the board. The early church agrees with the modern church. We have a secured fact.

Isaiah 60:8 was not understood by the ancient church. Even St.Ambrose with all his wisdom and Biblical knowledge misinterpreted the verse. He said it means that when you die your soul does a few laps around the earth before it returns to God. That interpretation is not even close. One of our most acclaimed Bible Commentaries on the market gets it right:

"60:8, 9 Plane-loads of Israel's sons and exiles return to Israel like flocks of birds, along with large ships bringing their accumulated wealth with them" (Bible Believer's Commentary).

The New Living Translation places the verse in proper context with traveling to Israel,
"And what do I see flying like clouds to Israel, like doves to their nests?"

Now here again you quote verse 16 and think you have disproven the prophecy. Wrong. Verse 16 is not fulfilled. Isaiah chapter 60 begins at the resurrection/ascension event and continues on throughout eternity. Its the chapter with no ending. Remember that old 80s movie "The NeverEnding Story"? Well Isaiah chapter 60 is actually a real case of the neverending story.

People today do not understand how to read Old Testament prophecies. They think that in every case the OT is gonna divide the first coming from the second coming, or current earth events in a separate chapter from new earth prophecies. Sorry but it doesn't always work that way in prophecy. Jesus' first coming is the victory...the battle won moment. Everything else comes with that victory on the cross. The battle is over after that.

Here is the full chronology of the prophecies all tied in with 1948.

1. The scattering of the Jews from one end of the earth to the other (Date: 70 A.D.)
a) Leviticus 26:33-35
b) Deuteronomy 4:25-28
c) Deuteronomy 28:15-68
2. The return of the Jews (Date 1948)
a) Deuteronomy 30:1-10
b) Isaiah 60:8-10

The key verse and overlapping event is Isaiah 60:3. That verse is fool proof because the meaning has been dogmatized for a very long time. Maybe tomorrow or one of these days I go through multiple sources on Isaiah 60:3 and prove that its interpreted along with some of the passages from Genesis which mention the gentiles coming to the faith of Abraham.

These prophecies are made clear. True, not all of Isaiah 60 is fulfilled. But it will be as the prophecy cannot be stopped.

Now there is another factor here. Its a paradigm shift...the great falling away. That prophecy in Matt.24 pretty much abrogates Isaiah 60:3. The great falling away began on 2004/2005. This is the approved consensus by top exorcists. This is the last and final paradigm of our present earth age history.

Obviously Jacob meant their descendants and we can see how some of it was fulfilled over the ages, still today.

But it relies primarily on secular writings and such for support. And many of those writings are spurious at best. Without those, the concept is shaky at best. It is always rather curious when some will proclaim a scripture only theme and then rely on extra biblical sources to support a position. It takes a discarding of principled standards of Hermeneutics and instead apply an allegorical approach to an extreme.

And the highlighted portion of your response above is a textbook case of circular reasoning for a entry level college course. And yes, many do reject it, but for several reasons that have nothing to do with a rapture. It is just a variation on replacement theology that takes the British Israel gig and tweaks it into the more modern Two House / Ephraimite Theology that is gaining some traction in some circles.

At the worse, it is yet another approach to discard the Hebrew people. Folks over the centuries haven't been able to eliminate them physically by killing them, so better to eliminate them by "proving" they are imposters and not the true owners of the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. On that alone, many of us will always reject the theory you espouse.

The promises confirmed to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, along with further confirmation of them by Paul, in light of the 2nd proclamation by Balaam in the wilderness, the details of 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah, and what I believe is a condemnation of such theories in Revelation 2 and 3, I will not ever accept this Two House / Ephraimite / British Israelism line of theology. The appearance of piousness doesn't solidify any case one might believe they have in support of such theologies.

Of course, we will indeed find out in the end. Somehow, I am not worried.
