Ex LGBT March in big event to share victory and freedom over sexual sin...

Ex-LGBT men, women to share stories of transformation at 2nd Freedom March in Washington, DC | The Christian Post

I share in the victory over homosexuality. Homosexuality is a mental illness according to several studies and can be reversible according to current conversion therapy techniques among psychologists and religious groups. My homosexuality was cured when my anxiety was treated and had counseling and medication management, with lots of prayer. My wife and family fully believe I was healed. When the root cause of the particular trauma is treated often the side affects of homosexuality reverse. In my case anxiety and homosexuality both reversed fully and completely. But for other homosexuals it has been proven that distant fathers while growing up brings on same sex attraction. In that mental illness, simply treating depression as well as mentoring and couseling can reverse that homosexuality. Still other cases are not related to family problems or anxiety and still in those situations treating the symptom of it will help lead the person out of homosexuality or bisexuality. Some who have lived years in this life style will have many more hurdles, with me it was only about a year that I was homosexual. I will post peer reviews backing up all of this when I get to a computer.

I see dozens, I don't know about you.
I certainly see 'dozens'. In fact, the most optimistic report I can find puts the numbers at 'around 50'.

If 'dozens' were all that turned out for this march, isn't it obvious that the level of active support, for this cause, is virtually non-existent? After all the pre-march hype, last year's "Freedom March" turned into a media joke.

people are probably afraid.

I know if there was a march in a large city in california where I live, I would be afraid of protesters.

my wife probably would not let me go.

I think you need to face reality Gradyll. Fifty(ish) people is a small queue - not a protest.

The march turn-out suggests that there is little active support for your cause.

Homosexuality is increasingly being accepted as just another normal, and inoffensive, human behaviour. Given time it will become normalised and we will all wonder what the problem was.

sir if God had not allowed me to fully repent of the sin of homosexuality after a year of being fully sexually aroused by people of the same sex, then I would not even have posted this thread. So fifty people spoke out. Many homosexuals don't think that their sexual orientation can change. As I have said homosexuality, bisexuality, transgender are all mental disorders. If you search homosexuality as psychosis on google scholar many articles pop up. The point being if homosexuals were taught that there is no gay gene, and that they have a choice whether or not to be homosexual, and that God is against it, and that it is actually proven to be unhealthy for individuals, they would try to get help, and in turn more would show up. But a march is where it starts. Fifty people who have totally turned from homosexuality in a single march. What about the marches of the future, or the marches in other states, that is only one state, what about the other fifty?

You're fighting a losing, and pointless, battle Gradyll.

It doesn't matter if homosexuality is genetic or hormonal or psychological or some combination. It is, and has always been, a normal part of human behaviour. It harms no one. The harm is caused by people who decide it's wrong by definition, with no reason other than a pronouncement from a culture from 2000 years ago. The harm is caused by those who choose to persecute, vilify and exclude homosexuals for no good reason.

If I were to accept the concept of sin, then it would be my conclusion that it is those who cannot accept homosexuals as they are, who are the real sinners.

Well, all I can say is bless the ones that escaped their sin.

amen brother. In the last ten years the Lord has allowed me to become victorious over four addictions. At first I thought it was only three, but this homosexuality was another one. I am free from inappropriate content, self gratification, homosexuality, and even food (over eating). That last one is a side issue compared to the rest. But the point is that God's victory is accumulative, it starts with the easy sins to overcome, then He goes on to the harder and harder sins, eventually making us perfect. Right now I am dealing with a lust addiction. Sometimes is lust over girls, or things, but covetousness is a deeply rooted sin in most of western society. This will take fasting and prayer.

Ridiculous I have known plenty and that statement is ridiculous. I worked at the city 5 years in a truck with a gay co-worker and I know of their struggles. This gay co-worker lady volunteered a lot of her time with gay people dying of AIDS. Gay people's rate of suicide, drug overdose and addiction, alcoholism etc etc is much much higher than the General Public.

Candy coating sin is just not the best thing to do.

Do you have any idea of how many gay people suffer from major depression? The psychiatrist offices are full of them. Many if not most are on meds.

Your ignorance is astounding.

Why, do you think gay people suffer high rates of depression and suicide?
Why do you think some gay people believe they must struggle to overcome their 'affliction'?

Could it be because they are vilified by so-called Christians?
Could it be because we've spent years telling them they are perverted and unnatural?
Could it be that we've caused the problems you accuse them of?

This topic is banned in this forum.
I'm not aware of any specific ban related to this particular forum. The OP raised homosexuality as an ethical issue in an open ethical debate forum.

I concede that continuing the discussion will not resolve the issue and is probably counter productive.

Homosexuality is explicitly not allowed to be discussed in this subforum.

Good thing they had it in DC isn't it, yet they could not even muster 100 people for some reason...

I didn't know about any problem with this particular forum? I was just reading through a thread making comments regarding my close gay friends and what they have shared with me during many, many years of working very closely together. I have a lot of love for them and thank God they know that.

They are vilified by the world much more than by Christians.
