delusion and deception related to the AC.
Three major religions claiming to follow the God of Abraham, yet one rejected the Kingdom and it's King, looking for a worldly leader, another lives and dies by the sword, and another rejected the Kingdom part way in and rejoined the world of man. Talk about deluded and deceived people.

Only Christians can be the ones that fall away from Christ not non-Christians.

recap - Revelation 11:8, "The Great City" Of Babylon. Is first century Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified

That verse speaks of the city spiritually being Sodom and Egypt but not Babylon. Babylon is something that is global not a tiny city in the middle east let alone a literal city at all. It's figurative of a false religion and those who participate in it. It sits upon something which has 7 mountains and ten kingdoms. Jerusalem doesn't have ten kingdoms, no city does. The ten kingdoms are spread throughout the entire world.

Hence the followers of the rebellious church that turned back to man and the churches it spawned.

No, it hasn't occurred yet and when it does, the falling away ones fall to the false god that comes to rule.

So then where does that church fit in. That was the greatest anti-Christ move in the last 2000 years

Again, what you speak of is not related to what Paul wrote concerning the falling away. That only happens when the world is controlled by one government, with one single leader, and ten kingdoms and kings under his control. This person will claim to be God and Christians will believe him and fall away to him committing Apostasy.

Other historical forms of falling away are not what is being addressed by Paul. Sure, perhaps they are shadows and types but not the true fulfillment.

Seems a complete reversal of Christianity would be noteworthy.

No, it doesn't and it never did. The 7 hits, 7 mountains 7 Kings and 10 horns and 10 additional Kings. Have always been features of the BEAST.

The Great City of BABYLON rides the beast like a rider rides a horse. They are separate entities.

Sure but that isn't what Paul wrote about. He did not speak of the specific falling away being related to persecution but delusion and deception related to the AC.
Paul clearly tells us the delusion is for those who will not believe. The passage says "those who perish because they would NOT receive the love of the truth...."

Which further disproves the idea that the falling away is from persecution.

Actually it doesn't. Do you discount what Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 1? Perhaps you should read that. They were under persecution at the time Paul wrote to them. Paul is encouraging them to maintain their faith, as well as warning them of what was to come.

Paul was example of what Christians would endure in the 1st century [and today], before the great day of wrath in 70ad.

2Co 1:4
who comforts us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

2 Corinthians 11
22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I.
23 Are they servants of Christ? I am speaking like I am out of my mind, but I am so much more:
in harder labor,
in more imprisonments [Luke 21:12 Revelation 2:10]

24 By Judeans five times forty minus one

25 Three times I was beaten with rods,
once I was stoned,
three times I was shipwrecked. I spent a night and a day in the open sea.
26 In my frequent journeys, I have been in dangers of rivers
and to dangers of bandits,
in dangers from fellow race,
from the Gentiles,
in city and in wilderness,
in danger on the sea
and to dangers in false brothers,
27 in labor and toil and often without sleep,
in hunger and thirst,
and often without food, in cold and exposure.

1 Corinthians 4:

9 For it seems to me that God has displayed us Apostles at the end of the procession, like prisoners appointed for death.
We have become a spectacle to the whole world, to angels as well as to men.
10 We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ.
We are weak, but you are strong.
You are honored, but we are dishonored.
11 To this very hour we are hungry and thirsty,
we are poorly clothed,
we are brutally treated,
we are homeless.
12 We work hard with our own hands.
When we are vilified, we bless;
when we are persecuted, we endure it;
13 when we are slandered, we answer gently.
Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world.
========================================
Matthew 23:34
Therefore behold! I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes.
Some of them ye will kill and crucify; and some of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city;

John 8:44

"Ye out of a father, the Devil are, and the desires<1939> of the father of ye, ye are willing to be doing.

Luke 21:12

“But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons.
You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.

Revelation 2:10 "tribulation 10 days"

‘Be not afraid of the things that thou art about to be suffering,
behold! the Devil is about to cast of you to prison, that ye may be tried,
and ye shall have tribulation ten days;...........

Even if it is Rome, that need not mean the Vatican. More likely, it would refer to the economic and political leader of the world (which Rome was at that time) which exists at the time of the Lord's return.

Right now, that's the United States. And I can pose an argument that the United States is just a province of Rome.

I agree. As minorities (gentiles) become the majority population they will disenfranchise us politically, economically, and religiously. America will then be just another Roman province/possession.

Armageddon (Rev 16) destroys Babylon (Rev 18)

the Church, the body of Christ on earth, preaching the Gospel with a sharp tongue, afterwards defeats the Beast (Rev 19) before the Millennium (Rev 20) before the little time of Gog and Magog before Final Judgement with flaming fire from heaven at the Second Coming

  • Armageddon = first Jewish Roman war
  • Babylon = Jerusalem
  • Babylon destroyed = 70ad
  • Beast defeated = Constantine, Council of Nicaea 325ad
  • Millennium = Constantinople, Byzantine empire
  • Gog and Magog = 15th century to present
  • Final Judgement @ 2C = ???

Over. The past 2000 years, the prophecies of revelation have. Played out as written. All the way down to revelation 20. Verse 8...

God hasn't been wrong yet.

The flood of Noah was literal. Waters of the Earth. Destroyed the known world 5000 years ago. Scripture always compares the coming fire from heaven. With the waters of Noah of the Earth. 2 Peter 3.

As Noah's flood waters of the earth was a literal event, so I literally interpret "fire from heaven". Revelation 20:9.

(Fire from Heaven obviously alludes of course to Sodom, which is another mystical name for Babylon, Egypt = first century apostate Jerusalem also. So, themes in revelation recapitulate. The sinful spiritual condition of Sodom 4000 years ago reemerged in Jerusalem, 2000 years ago. And has remerged today. Justifying God's wrath of God.)

"Armageddon" destroyed "Babylon" in 70 AD

The siege of Jerusalem didn't take place on the Plains of Megiddo.

Constantine was the emperor of the Beast, the Roman Empire.

Rome was widely known as the "city on seven hills"

seven kings =
  1. Caesar
  2. Augustus
  3. Tiberius
  4. Caligula
  5. Claudius
  6. Nero
  7. Galba
  8. Otho
under Nero, Rome burned to the ground = mortal wound healed

The "mortal wound" was the fall of the Roman Empire. The wound was healed with the birth of the Holy Roman Empire under Charlemagne and it's ascent to power in Europe.

The wound on the beast did not cause the fall of the beast nor any part of the beast to fall so it has nothing to do with Rome falling. Rome falling would be one of the past kings/kingdoms that fell in succession found in Rev 17:10

Read Revelation 13 for the details.
