A few months ago I met a Korean couple who sold a nail salon and bought a chicken farm and had no regrets. You learn as you go. Maybe your state or local Govt has resources to help you succeed. Good luck!

You're going to have a great time with your farm! I wish I was in the position to do something like that. Do you envision running a farm stand to sell some of your bounty?
If you plan on growing food, I would suggest you get your soil tested first to see what you may need to add in the way of nutrients for the kinds of crops you want to grow. My parents grow their own food and they thought for years that they had some kind of fungal disease affecting their garden, but it was actually an imbalance in the soil and high nitrogen.
If you plan to raise animals, now would be the time to locate your nearest farm veterinarian if you don't already know where that might be.
I worked on a large farm for two years and it was a great experience. Definitely something you have to be willing to invest time into, but well worth it.

If you plan on letting your chickens and turkeys free-range a bit, pick them up a lot while they're still chicks and they'll be much more at ease and easier to round up when they're grown.
Or else, Border Collies (or a Border Collie mix) love rounding up turkeys and chickens and do a pretty good job. It's fun to watch.
