I do not understand Americans anymore. A "style guide" for journalists, that forces language, specific phrases, specific norms of wording to shape and re-frame ideology? This is Soviet! How is this tolerated?

While I don't agree with abortion, we are living in a world where women and doctors will receive longer jail time than the rapists, or flat out execution like Texas is proposing. The Republican real life Handmaids Tale is becoming more of a reality.

NPR, Planned Parenthood, the Democratic Party, Catholics For a Free Choice, the ACLU, and dozens of other similar entities, the whole lot of them are one big interconnected Aspen forest. NPR is the propaganda organ. Not at all a surprise that NPR would carefully control the message. Only surprise is that the memo got out to the public.

Remember: A baby is not a baby until NPR says so.

It's not just Soviet. It's just how propaganda works, by shaping the way you think. It is Orwellian. Not that he invented it, but he described it so well.

Well, of course babies aren't really babies until they're born! We all know that!

While they're still in the womb, they are all actually 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Airs. They only become babies once they come down the chute.

(Hey, if they can make up magical, nonsensical hogwash out of thin air, then so can I.)

Considering some states are now classifying abortion as murder, and literally saying they will be tried as murder, and since Texas is literally proposing a possible death penalty, it is true that women and doctors are looking to receive harsher penalties than rapists.

I'm just saying the rapists should receive far worse sentencing than the people they put in this position.

That's how it works. They have to dehumanize the babies to lessen empathy and make the murder more palatable. It's disgusting.

No anti-abortion laws, proposed or otherwise say anything about criminal penalties for women who have abortions. That's a lie.

I personally couldn't agree more!

However, at least in my former home state of Oregon, it was the exact same side that was pushing for limitless abortion who was also humanizing rape, especially pedophiliac rape and limiting sentences, removing offender registrations etc. Be not confounded by their propaganda.

Also, again, none of the laws punish women and for instance AL Supreme Court specifically had decided that women cannot be punished and the legislators now explicitly stated that they are not overturning that decision.

A baby is just a small child. The scripture calls such a child whether in the womb or out of the womb.
Tell their editor to try and "edit that"
