I do my investing through Schwab which is great brokerage and IRA accounts. Also good for IRA is TD Ameritrade. I also use Aspiration bank which is a great online bank. I have several savings accounts that earn 2% or more interest - you can check out on nerdwallet.com or bankrate.com. I use Alliant Fed Credit Union, also Yieldstreet which is giving 2.2% on money saved with them, also My Savings Direct which is 2.4%. That's just savings, not investments, so it's just liquid cash. Some of them also give a no-fault CD at higher interest so that if you default on the term they don't penalize you, you just stop getting the CD interest rate.

Wells Fargo is a good bank but they did some bad things. I'm glad you had good experience with them. By the way I understand your "schtick" here, I enjoy it very much, lol.

My only complaint about Wells Fargo is that they sold my closest branch to Flagstar Bank, now instead of a quick 4 hour trip to La Port Indiana; I have a grueling 7 hour drive to Milwaukee Wisconsin.

Ah I see re WaMu. Sorry that that happened to you! I have lived in NJ all my life but back in the 2000's I traveled more than 50% for work - a lot was to Seattle area. I opened a WaMu account because of that, and later when they were bought Chase merged my WaMu into my Chase account, so I didn't have any problems.

Re Wells Fargo, they are new to my area so I opened accounts based on good incentives they gave me for credit card and checking. I just wait for these deals where they give you cash to open an account (usually $200 to $400) then after opening the account I save it to use for budgeting, it's easier to not touch them this way. A lot of the online stuff is great. But if Wells weren't in my area I would probably close them.
