Some of us here don't think it's good news. I would have liked to see a much better suite of policies focussed on the most vulnerable in our society.
But it would be a mistake to see this as an Australian litmus test on attitudes to Trump. The main issue which probably swung the election was some very specific policy differences on particularly arcane tax reforms. (If you understand all the ins and outs of taxing franking credits on dividends under Australian law, you're doing better than I am, frankly).
And it doesn't hurt to remember that Australians in general have an extremely low opinion of American politics.
