Please, I've been struggling a lot this year with smoking and don't want to make it a habit again. I use to chain smoke a couple years ago, but recently found myself picking up the habit again. When I'm stressed I'll buy a pack of cigarettes, smoke a couple and throw the pack out because I will feel Ill, then feel convicted for harming my body again and ask the Lord for forgiveness. I just started a job and all my co workers smoke which makes things worse with trying to avoid it, I don't want to keep using cigarettes as a means to cope with my stress. I use to read my bible every day and listen to k-love to cope with my stress as well as draw and play my ukulele, but I'm finding it harder every day to maintain those healthier ways to cope. I've prayed to the Lord, but I don't know if my heart was or is, in the right place right now for my prayers to be effective. I'm weak and need the power of God over my life to free me, I don't want this sin to have control over my life again.
I do have the bible app and started getting caught up on my bible plans again, thank you for the advice, the best thing I can do is keep myself busy while at work and pull out my bible app on my lunch breaks.Get back in the daily routine of reading. Do you have a Bible app? You Version is free and lots and lots of translations. When your friends go to smoke, don’t go and open up and start reading. Find daily reading plans. Pray without ceasing.
