Today, I was reading through Psalm 68 and what really stood out to me was the way God cares for the orphans, widows and strangers. In particular, Psalm 68:5-6 states: "God, who lives in his sacred Temple, cares for orphans and protects widows. He gives the lonely a home to live in and leads prisoners out into happy freedom". This love is shown by Jesus throughout the gospels where he reached out to people in the most desperate need, especially the outcasts, the lonely, the ostracised and those who had no-one to defend them.
