Ways ministries try to validate their theology .. that isn't Christian.

The two types of things people do to validate theology that contradicts other parts of the bible is

1) Miracles used to prove the ministry is going in the right direction, even if it's fundraising theology contradicts the teachings of Jesus directly. Or some other consistent element of the application is anti-Jesus teaching.

2) Creating a theology that is intentionally insulting, and then claiming the persecution is proof that they're doing something right.

What are some other things that you've noticed?

One thing literally has a commandment written about it. You see a lot of people say "The Lord is calling me to do" such and such. Really? Are you sure? Because if He isn't... well, that's taking His name in vain. That's breaking a commandment. It's kind of a big deal.

On a similar note, it's interesting how the Lord is "calling" so many of these people to do exactly what they themselves want to do. Don't mistake me for an expert but the times when I see God's fingerprints most clearly are when I'm doing something I don't want to do. I can probably count on one hand the number of times God may have ever "called" me to do what I wanted to do. Usually, He wants me to do something I want nothing to do with.

That would lead to the Moses test, this lead to Korah and his family and all their possessions falling into a sink hole deep in the earth.

Instead of people saying, I am called by God then getting offended when people question it, maybe they should say .. hey maybe you're right, it's not like I want to do this. However, If God really really asked me to do this, then make up something absurd and see if it happens.

I am having a bit of trouble understanding what you mean by a theology that is intentionally insulting. Perhaps you could expand on that idea?

It was in relation to something said in 1 Peter Chapter 2

19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

There are passages that speak of Christian Character but these verses apparently do not seem to apply when evangelists go out and talk to those who are not Christians is one example.

So an example might be signs saying “God hates [insert slur against LGBT people here]”?

If not, providing an example of what you mean would be helpful since at least two of us don’t understand what you mean.

Perhaps a particular group that protests funerals may be a better example?

Doesn't that group also carry signs saying "God hates [insert slur against LGBT people here]"? Or am I thinking of a different group?

I'm noticing you making it about a particular issue. I left it ambiguous on purpose, so it can apply to a wider context.

I recall sitting for a sermon and noticed that the Pastor may have been using the sermon to have a one sided conversation with someone who wasn't present.

I also recall him doing that to one of our conversations, this is not the first pastor i've noticed following this pattern.

In a sense, this can be an insult form of theology, and since it provides zero means of discussing further, it can also result in persecution ... howbeit, not for a Gospel related reason.

However, when I think about it, there are many traditions who have ministries that focus on insults to apply the teachings, and use any push back for their rude behavior as further validation (calling it persecution) of their ministry.

You may be familiar with how post reformation churches have this tendency to jump to insulting conclusions about Catholic teachings. Though the persecution doesn't happen anymore since the religion state era is over, the insults still remain. I left it as a generalization, since it seems to be an issue the church could use some healing from.
