No nation is perfect , all have sinned, yet if America is so bad, why are you here? Israel is a country you might like, pretty secular and all that.

Also the talking points get old, I get it, whitey is evil, and no one else like the black people or native Americans haven't or don't commit crimes, whites are just devils, we should give the minorities every last cent we have, evacuate our property, and go back to Europe, happy now, does that make you feel better. All I said how about putting Christ on the dollar bill, and people get up in arms about "forced conversions"
How would you feel if the dollar bill had the Arabic calligraphy of "Allahu Akbar?"

Besides your defensive rant, there's no reason why Jesus Christ should have His face plastered on U.S. currency because (1) No one living today actually knows what He looked like, (2) Wouldn't that kind of be like idolatry?, and (3) American Christians don't have any special privileges or right to have their religion promoted on U.S. currency (and yes, that would be promoting Christianity on U.S. currency).

I also find putting a picture on to a piece of money of the figurehead of a religion who has the quote “the love of money is the root of all evil” in their holy book as possibly the most ironic thing of all-time above “a bunch of idiots on an airplane dancing to a song made famous by a band that died in a place crash.”

It means God is Great, I see no problem, infact, while no fan of the Islamic religion , I admire their zeal in defending their faith from liquid Modernity, Christians can learn a lot.

One could also look at as a good thing, look at the picture of Christ next time one wants to rent a hotel room to cheat on one wife,, or passing by a homeless person, and deciding it best to feed him, instead of saying "eww bums", or to spend the money wisely for good in general.

And what would this graven image of Jesus look like? Would the image depict Him as Middle Eastern or would it depict Him as a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes or perhaps as a black man? Who will have the final authority to decide which depiction of Jesus will be plastered onto U.S. currency?

I think of Jesus being very angry while He overturned the tables of the moneymakers in the Temple.

Why is there a tradition of putting people on money in the first place? I'd much prefer symbols rather than people.

We could put Kanye on there and get both.

and the offer was made to put her pic on one of several bills of other denominations instead, so I conclude that the whining about Tubman not being put on the $20 in the next year or two is not credible.

2 years later, and...

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Thursday it still is not time to introduce a new $20 bill picturing escaped slave and abolitionist Harriet Tubman despite recent protests over police treatment of African Americans - but insisted the reasons are purely technical.

The image of Tubman, born into slavery in 1822 and who later escaped from a Maryland plantation and helped hundreds of slaves reach freedom, was first proposed for the $20 bill in 2016 by Democratic then-President Barack Obama's last Treasury secretary, Jack Lew.

Lew's goal was for Tubman to replace former President Andrew Jackson, who owned slaves, on the $20 bill in 2020.

The next $20 bill redesign is scheduled for release in 2030 [Mnuchin said]

For perspective, the last time we designed the $20, it had been in circulation for about 17 years. When was that you ask? 17 years ago.

See my post #24.

And why this thread necromancy, anyway?
That is the same article I cited several posts back. It does not state or insinuate that there was no intention to produce the bill, but that the work would have to be carried out during the next administration because the present Obama administration would soon come to a close.

I don't see how you infer that they never intended to produce the bill for political reasons. What specific sentence/s in the letter do this reveal this information?

All have not "sinned" and America is a secular country. Jesus will never be on our currency.

From the link I cited earlier (this was in 2017):

In a CNBC interview that aired Thursday, however, current Treasury leader Steven Mnuchin was asked whether he supports putting Tubman on the $20 bill.

He responded, "Ultimately we will be looking at this issue, [but] It's not something that I'm focused on at the moment."

That's a "we're not doing it," consistent with what was actually said in 2016.

As I said in post #29, without settling on the new anti-counterfeiting measures, drawing a design would be premature, anyway.

I don't see how you infer that they never intended to produce the bill for political reasons.

You added the "for political reasons" words to what I said. I didn't say that.
