The preacher said, and I paraphrase,

I was in addiction for years. But add up all your years of addiction and the verse still says he gives 'greater grace.'

The verse is James 4-6

But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE."

Does this mean that after my addiction God might give me my dreams?

Hi @YCGP, the following verse is a command with a promise (of sorts). I've always loved what it teaches us about getting the things that we want as Christians, our dreams and desires (and that God wants us to have such things, as well :)).

Psalm 37
4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
If you want the Lord to fulfill His half of the verse (the promise part), then you'll need to carefully consider what our half of the verse (the command portion) is telling us to do (the key to this verse isn't found in chasing after what we want, rather, it's found in chasing after Him).

God bless you! (Matthew 6:33)

edit: I'm not EOC. I just realized what board I'm on, so if you want me to take this post down, just let me know and I will do so immediately. Sorry about this!

YGCP, I might be mistaken but I think this is the third time you mention dreams.

I wouldn't want to overstep any bounds, but typically, one has to be very cautious of dreams and interpreting them. I don't recall your situation in the church, but at the risk of sounding like broken record, you MUST address this with your priest as soon as you can. I don't recall your exact situation, sorry, but if you are not yet baptized even sooner. I apologize if I sound like an old lady, but believe me you do not want to fall into delusion.
