Almost exactly the same hair. That's why she'd look so good on the $20.

Yeah...I thought the same thing when I saw it. Perhaps there was some subconscious thing going on there when I suggested it.

I don't think it would have been possible for Obama to change currency that is not scheduled till 2020?

Trump is not doing things to erase Obama. It just that he has an American first attitude. Obama wanted to build a better world. Trump wants to rebuild America.

I knew a little about Moses, and now that I have researched her... I think its a terrific idea! I also think that if we petition our president than it will happen.

Unfortunately, Harriett is being told to sit in the back of the bus (wait, wrong person).

The redesign of the $20 bill featuring Harriet Tubman will no longer be unveiled in 2020, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Wednesday.

Mnuchin said the design process has been delayed and no new imagery will be unveiled until 2028.

Praise God! And for all the liberals out there, 2028 will be the end of President Trump’s THIRD term!!!!!

We should just make him our King so he can stay in there indefinitely.

Always thinking up top the mountain.

My bad. I already commented earlier in this thread about how I voted on the redesign.

No we shouldn't just put Harriot on the $20, instead of certain celebrities, figures or presidents of American history, how about we Put Christ, the Theotokos Virgin Mary, the saints, and biblical figures like Moses, Joseph, etc. With Christ being on the Dollar bill, since he is #1.

That pesky First Amendment would prevent that.

Why did it need to happen during Obama's administration?

Because nobody expected it to happen during Donald's administration. Tubman doesn't stand for anything Donald supports.

America is not a Christian nation or a Christian Theocracy and the Christian religion should never be endorsed or promoted by the federal government. In fact, no specific religion should be endorsed or promoted by the government. And despite what some Christians seem to believe, Christians aren't entitled to preferential treatment by the federal government simply because they are Christian.

No way! The United States of America is NOT a Christian nation or a Christian Theocracy and the Christian religion should never be endorsed or promoted by the government. It not endorsing Christianity, just having a picture of God or the Holy Trinity, nobody forcing you to become Christian, no one saying you couldn't have opinions about it, not all.

BTW the first amendment wasn't meant to be strong separation between Church, and state like Atheist France, it was meant to stop a monopoly of one Church for the entire nation, like you had with the Pope of Rome or the King in the British empire. Infact many of the founders of our nation were Christian(granted many were also deists), those who came on the mayflower where heterodox Christians like puritans, hugeonats, Pilgrims ,etc. Immigration was largely European Christian (some jews too), take for example the Germans who fled here during the 1800's after the Union church scheme, were Devout Confessional Lutherans, the Irish and Italians were predominantly Roman Catholic that came in the 19th & 20th century, many of the Russians native to Alaska where Orthodox or Old Rite Old Believers, the Greek people who came between Greek Independence in 1821 up until the military junta of the 1970's where mostly Orthodox, most of our Presidents where Mainline Protestant (I. E -Methodist, Presbyterian , Espocipalian), and I could go on. Christianity (both the small o orthodox, and heterodox varieties) have shaped the American culture, politics, and morals up until around the upheaval of the 1960's secularization, to acknowledge Christian impact on America isn't forced conversions or establishing a theocracy.

And yet despite all of these Christian influences you mentioned, the United States of America was still founded on massive land theft, hundreds of violated treaties with the tribal nations, white supremacy, and the subjugation and discrimination against minorities. There were still forced Indian removals, brutal massacres of native men, women and children, 89 years of legalized slavery, the Three-Fifths Compromise, and nearly two centuries of systemically denying minorities civil rights and equality to white people. America wasn't founded on Christian principles or on freedom, liberty and justice for all.

The United States is a nation where black people were being lynched and hung from trees. It is a nation where black people had to sit at the back of the bus and were legally required to give up their seat to a white person. It is a nation where black people couldn't eat at the same counter as white people in a public restaurant or use the same public restroom as white people or use the same drinking fountain as white people. It is nation where black children were not allowed to go to school with white children until its highest court intervened and ended legal segregation in public schools.

The United States is a nation where black people and other minorities were denied suffrage until a year after the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964. It is a nation where "No Colored" signs, "No Mexicans" signs, "No Indians and dogs" signs, and "Whites Only" signs dawned public stores and restaurants while the Jim Crow Laws were still in effect before the Voting Rights Act in 1965 put an end to those racist laws. The United States of America is a nation that was born in genocide.

It would also be worthwhile to re-examine and acknowledge the long history of perpetual racism and discrimination against minorities before deciding the United States was founded as a Christian nation.

Why is there a tradition of putting people on money in the first place? I'd much prefer symbols rather than people.
It's an ancient tradition going back to ancient kings and emperors putting their faces on money, though with the emergence of democracy the tradition became to replace them with notable citizens.

No nation is perfect , all have sinned, yet if America is so bad, why are you here? Israel is a country you might like, pretty secular and all that.

Also the talking points get old, I get it, whitey is evil, and no one else like the black people or native Americans haven't or don't commit crimes, whites are just devils, we should give the minorities every last cent we have, evacuate our property, and go back to Europe, happy now, does that make you feel better. All I said how about putting Christ on the dollar bill, and people get up in arms about "forced conversions"
