A Would-Be Trump Aide’s Demands: A Jet on Call, a Future Cabinet Post and More

...and a few other things including nomination for DHS secretary and for POTUS to relay Kobach’s orders to other secretaries.

Kris Kobach’s Conditions for Becoming Immigration Czar

Mr. Kobach submitted the following list of demands during discussions for an administration post.

  • 1. Office in the West Wing.
  • 2. Walk-in privileges with the president.
  • 3. Assistant to the President rank - at highest pay level for WH senior staff.
  • 4. Staff of 7 people (2 attorneys, 2 research analysts, 1 scheduler, 1 media person, 1 assistant).
  • 5. POTUS sits down individually with Czar and the secretaries of Homeland Security, Defense, Justice, Ag, Interior, and Commerce, and tells each of the Secretaries to follow the directives of the Czar without delay, subject to appeal to the President in cases of disagreement.
  • 6. 24/7 access to either a DHS or DOD jet. Czar must be on the border every week.
  • 7. Ability to spend weekends in KS with family on way from border back to DC, unless POTUS needs Czar elsewhere.
  • 8. Security detail if deemed necessary after security review.
  • 9. Serve as the face of Trump immigration policy - the principal spokesman on television and in the media.
  • 10. Promise that by November 1, 2019, the president will nominate Kris Kobach to be DHS Secretary, unless Kobach wishes to continue in Czar position.

  • Informative

From the link:

The list was described by three people familiar with it.

So three people leaking a supposed list once again is being embraced as fact.

Nothing has changed
Has he denied the allegation?

Since no one who actually has permission to speak on the matter has said anything, I don’t know.

Additionally, since the link makes it quite clear he isn’t the Presidents first choice what is the need?

Relax. I posted this because I think it's funny. The list of problems with Kobach taking that position is even longer than this list of demands.

As a member of the advisory board of Kolfage's We Build the Wall, let's see what he can do with money that was freely donated, before we allow him near any (more) public funds.

I was addressing the topic and pointing out its inherent weakness and not addressing you personally. Perhaps I am not the one who needs to relax??

But it seems to be good cause to insult, mock and throw out jabs at the President and his Administration based on unverified and unverifiable gossip from a national gossip rag.

Funny, that "national gossip rag" and its unnamed sources "familiar" with the subject were good enough for you last week when you created this thread about an article that started off with this:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/13/us/politics/russia-investigation-justice-department-review.html[/url]

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr has assigned the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut to examine the origins of the Russia investigation, according to two people familiar with the matter, a move that President Trump has long called for but that could anger law enforcement officials who insist that scrutiny of the Trump campaign was lawful.

I'd also point out that your article only claimed two sources, while mine claimed three. But I guess that's enough when it feeds anti-Democrat sentiment.

He has not returned texts and emails from The NY Times. Generally in these cases the person would adamantly deny the allegations if they were not true or he wanted ppl to believe they weren’t true.

First rule in public relations is when asked a question, people will translate a “no comment” as “yes.”

Or.....

He really doesn’t care what the NYT wants because he will not be truthfully reported regardless of what he says.

We all know that if he made a statement to the press denying the allegation it would be published. Trump denies things all the time and is quoted.

...too bad, it seems Trump has picked another person for the Sr position sought by Kobach: [note - it's really not clear what a Drug Czar would do other than going on Fox and Friends and placating the base with tough talk -- the position has no authority]

Ken Cuccinelli

He has declared that homosexuality “brings nothing but self-destruction, not only physically but of their soul.” He accused Obama in 2015 of encouraging “an invasion” by illegal immigrants. And on a radio talk show in 2012, he said that a D.C. law that prevented animal control workers from killing rats “is worse than our immigration policy. You can’t break up rat families.

...another right wing ideologue looking for a government paycheck...

Funny how every time something is pointed out that doesn’t support your argument you feel the need to get personal.

It is not personal to point out that your position is inconsistent. NYT articles based on anonymous sources are either valid evidence to consider or invalid evidence to consider.

When you disagree, address the context of the post and not the poster.

My position in another thread is not the topic of the thread
