Yes. Al Gore and some others got very rich pumping up this idea, but the data had to be faked to do it. Now, scientists get grant money by intoning the magic phrase "global warming" or "climate change."

However, I have seen the long-term trend, and the current warming is a small blip on the historical scale, and further, the long-term trend is colder.

If you look back your whole economy was struggling and whether truthful or not, the whole intention was to create an entirely new industry to create wealth and jobs (estimates of$26 trillion). There was no room left in the hospitality industry which was rapidly becoming the only source of income. Just like muslim terrorists replaced communism as an excuse for profitable war, climate change replaced a dying industrial revolution.

If so, what happens to that new industry if the climate turns colder, rather than remaining in a warming trend?

You don't really see the effects here in the US,
Actually since last Sept. you have been caught in a loop where weather has swooped down from Alaska along the east side of the Rockies and proceeded east totally ignoring Canada to the north, across the US causing snow storms and rains not common. Notorious Colorado Lows that used to move NNE into the prairies of Canada are now moving more easterly and barely grazing the border. As a matter of fact the prairies, although cold this winter, missed almost every storm that went across the US including at this moment. Ocean temperatures determine these events and the bubble will move sooner or later but for now it is interesting to watch the pattern.

Until 1983 the weather was much like it is now, but then spring suddenly moved ahead a month and winter came a month later, but now spring is moving onward again to it's old norm, but snow now in the fall even earlier than ever, is starting two weeks early to the norm two years back and last year a month early with snow here on Sept 21st. Unheard of. Yet only 3 years ago the sun went in August to white light as photographers called it and not only did it remain mild late and through the winter, but migration was all screwed up due to increased light and butterflies and birds that normally migrate based on light levels, stayed and started to reproduce again, and as a result there was a great kill off as they got caught in the cold when winter did set in.

So yes things are screwy but there are many more factors than making money on climate change at work.

Whether it's warming or not, I don't know, but I think that it is obvious that there has been some freakish weather events. I don't think it hurts to try to decrease some of the harmful things we do to the environment. Of course, we all should learn what the Creator says concerning the earth and adjust our interaction with it accordingly.

The media gave it that name but a better name would be global extremes. Expect another turbulent summer.

You would think beach front property would have went down in value when Al Gore was going on about how under water we would all be by now. Not even sure if he really believed it since he invested millions into beach front property for himself while decrying drowning polar bears and the sea rising.

Was that global warming or global cooling or what is now called global climate change?

I don't know which one, although I do believe one day the sun will scorch men and the Euphrates will dry up but I would likely attribute that to an angels and vials thing. All the money in the world would't do too much to divert something like that (at least I don't think so).

What if this is a natural cycle of geological, or even spiritual events?

We have only been on this planet recording the history for 6000 - 14,000 years (depending on who you speak to). That is a blip in the lifetime of the earth. It is equivalent to observing the last 2 hours of an 80 year old man's life - and making a conclusion about the entirety of the dynamics of his life.

Regardless of what it is, something is changing just like it did back around '82 when for the last 37 years spring came a month earlier and the sun was curling shingles on the roofs and fading the pint on everything quickly. That passed after a couple of decades and now we get weather extremes, but it is reverting back to pre-'82. One day the sun will heat up the inside of a closed vehicle to scorching temps and the next day under the same atmospheric conditions, the vehicle will get only warm. Who knows?

We can't know whether our alarmism is because of a natural phenomenon that occurs outside human lifetime (>10,000 years), or if this is an acute event. We are basing our anthropogenic GW on spikes in recorded historical earth phenomenon - which is fine, but is ludicrous to then extrapolate that result over the other 99.999% of earth history we don't observe.

Patterns can be periodic in the short or long term. We don't know these patterns because Earth is a dynamic system, and we can't reproduce earth in a laboratory. We assume our extrapolations work over a spread, but this folly is why people are often surprised at events that "shouldnt" happen.

It would be a shame for, as an example, the world population to accept a population cull for the better of the world (who is allowed to expire first?) when there is no need - and it wouldn't matter if there were 10 Billion or 100,000 on the planet. But, that's the lot of trusting this world for answers; you will always be led astray, and it will be called progress. Humanity peaks in medicine, technology, masonry and social consciousness at a paradigm shift, and this AGW, flat/globe, Kardashian, fake news... are all part of spiritual paradigms meant to transform our thinking into more of a degenerate creature.

Some people want that.

We are meant to be good stewards of the earth...and many of us do our part as good stewards. Big business and greed have no doubt caused the earth a great deal of damage. But if left alone, nature will restore itself very quickly. Much quicker than people realize.

Here's what people either don't know, or ignore about what impacts our weather.

The earth goes through cycles that impact weather.
The poles shifting impacts the weather.
And of course there are solar flares that impact our weather too.
The movement and temperature of the oceans impacts weather.
Indeed, there are so many variables that affect our weather that it is indeed false to claim that man made pollution is the cause, or that anything we do can change the natural course of earths cycles and pole shifts.
Weather has become a weapon to cause fear and alarm, to fulfill political agendas, and to make some people a lot of money.

Bit like that hole in ozone layer that we actually took steps to correct and now it is healing.

No it's not hard at all to recognize there are many variables that affect the weather.

It's been stated that the ozone hole is getting smaller, but it actually fluctuates in size and for all intents and purposes...we simply don't know what it's normal size should be or if in fact anything humans have done matters to the normal fluctuation of it's size.

Indeed. Even more so when we are talking about climate.

But like the ozone hole

Ozone depletion - Wikipedia

we have quite an extensive research about it and more info is coming all the time so this we do not know let us not do anything drivel is just sad.
