I'm wondering if its a sin to play games where you Defeat Evil but not do evil would these games be a sin to play?
No more than reading the old testament. The sin with games is the addictive nature of them, need to watch out for idolatry or covetousness, putting the game before taking care of yourself .. stuff like that.

Life is about defeating sin within ourselves so perhaps the games should be fought against ourselves. :) But everything in life used to be based on the principle of good vs evil, even if there was never a clear definition of which was which. These days it's pretty well a case of anything goes.

Like I said, life is about defeating sin/evil within ourselves. There are all different ways of looking at characters in the game. We can be the good guys and they can be the bad. (But they might see us as bad and them as good. - like in real life) On the other hand they could be symbolic of the evil we want to destroy in ourselves. Like music it is whatever you want it to be. It is just a game after all.

Why only games, what about shows, ect...? Sometimes the lines of good and evil, in a lot of games (and shows) can get blurry or blurred sometimes, or otherwise affect your sense of right and wrong, but the same is true of learning and growing and developing and maturing and growing up (in a spirtual sense) in general as well...? So...

Try to play the games as good or as being good or the good character or the good guy, if it is bothering your conscience at all or in any way... But, expect the lines to get blurred, makes for good stories, entertainment, or games... They say the best ones do, so...

God Bless!

In my opinion if you go around killing evil in games you yourself are evil. It's not loving neighbour/enemy as self. But I guess there are no real games from that angle, except maybe skill testing games.
Games are crafty, as much entertainment is, they love to present you with circumstances that seem plausible and just, at least from where you are seeing it from, which is the, or their perspective they want you to see, ect, but also presents you with situations and circumstances that are (or were in the past) (or might be in the future) situations and circumstances where it is either kill or be killed, or where is is questionable to kill, ect, military games, ect...

Where do you draw the line, ect...? They/it, (games, shows, entertainment, media, ect) try to test your limits of where you will draw those lines all the time... Will push the moral and ethical boundaries, a lot of the time...

Is violence with machines less than violence with or against flesh...? or are ugly, mean, aliens, worse or better than killing other "people" or humans (in games) (simulations) like ourselves...? Is senseless killing worse than killing in a war situation, ect, or for some other purpose, ect...?

Causes you to question these things, and things like these...

God Bless!

Take the world of Skyrim for example, it's a world in turmoil, and for good reason, if you knew anything about the story, and we like it because we feel our world is a world in turmoil also, and we find a lot of parallels, and there are a lot of questionable decisions in that game, same as here, and it is kind of set in a more middle-ages time, there is bad and evil out there in it, a lot of places in it, and you have to decide what your going to do about it or with it, I try to be as good as I can, but kill evil in it in all it's forms... I make the best decisions I can with what I'm presented with at the time, and I don't look back a lot of the time...

But the game does not make it easy by any means...

Some people will save their game, or create multiple save files or characters, and try out many different paths you can take in it, like seeing what a bad character or playing a bad character would be like, ect, or choosing differently in it, and i may do that a little bit, the choosing a bit differently part sometimes, but I do not hardly ever choose or get curious to see what it would be like to purposely be or create a bad or evil character on purpose ever, or something like that, most usually... Or make any totally evil decisions, or whatever, that are sometimes presented to you, ect...

God Bless!

Some already gave you a good advice on this one in the previous threads you started concerning your worries on games.

Are you reading our advice at all??

If you're very worried about playing video games (by making 10 threads about it). I think you know the obvious answer. If it's bothering your spirit too much, then don't play any video games at all. It might bring you peace if you stop completely.

Well, what comes to me now is, what does God want to do with you symbiotically, you know ... living inside you?

In general, if you feel guilty doing it, it's a sin even if there's nothing wrong with it. You might want to examine why there is guilt or similar feelings.
