Trump says war will mean 'official end of Iran,' warns 'never threaten the United States again'
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have risen in recent weeks after the Trump administration ordered warships and bombers to the Middle East earlier this month to counter threatened attacks against U.S. interests by Iran or Iranian-backed forces.

Iran only understands one thing.
Strength.
Trump shows that.

Iran would like to see Biden or Obama back in office. Those were better days for them.

I know, right?! Such weak, ungodly men ... trying to keep relative peace with their pitiful grovelling and apology tours and stuff.

We all know that true, masculine Christian strength and character comes in Twitter rants trying to escalate tensions and imminence of mass bloodshed.

War with Iran would be far more devastating the the one with Iraq. Trump like to make noise like this but the idea of letting it escalate to something like that is reprehensible. The strategy is to isolate them, which is all his policies are prepared to do.

Yes, and look for actual collusion on Iran's part to make that happen.

The strategy is to isolate them, which is all his policies are prepared to do.

Then you will have another isolated state like North Korea with bitter hatred for US for isolating them and wrecking their economy with good reasons to seek nuclear weapons to protect them from the US while giving all the ammunition their conservative religious leaders need to crush any hopeful democracy or looser religious society younger people would want.

All of this after you already once toppled their democratically elected government in 1953.

They’ve been in isolation. The mullahs thrive on isolation, it helps with their control. Sadly, getting their ‘you know what’s’ kicked, or at least the threat of it, is probably the only way to break or effect that grip. At least with Trump they can't be sure that possibility doesn't exist. With a weaker presidency they may confiscate one of our battleships next time.

This is the same man who said he would run into a school shooting without a gun and the same man who ran off a stage like a frightened little boy and hid behind the secret service when someone came at him during one of his presidential campaign rallies. Yeah, he's a tough macho man all right.

Hi MM,

And so you think it's righteous that we threaten to blow some nation off the face of the earth because they want what we have? Trump's a blowhard!

God bless,
In Christ, ted

Unlike in Obama’s world, weaker thugs have very little leverage in Trump’s, and after a point will stay as quiet as a church mouse. They saw what happened to Iraq when the giant won’t be pushed around and threatened... they’ll inherit a wasteland with more craters than the surface of the moon.

All these opinions about the man at the helm, yet non of you state how you would be handling this if you were in his shoes. Remember Iran is this close to nuclear war in thanks to Obama.

Yeah, it's always Obama's fault. Just like the Democrats were the reason for the government shutdown over the wall (even though Trump said he'd own it if it happened, if I recall). The buck stops here, eh, Party of Personal Responsibility?

And see, I don't know exactly how I would be handling this if I were in his shoes. I do know I wouldn't threaten war like the blowhard Trump is, though. I didn't run for the highest office in the country, however, apparently thinking it'd be an easy job that I could do so much better than the last few guys. So I'm afraid he's going to have to be critiqued for the genuinely stupid stuff he says and does.

That's exactly what Iran does.

Do we sink to their level? Or do we as good God-fearing Americans try to be better than that? I admittedly criticize the Religious Right and Christian supporters of Trump far more than I do atheists or Muslims or liberals in general because we're supposed to be setting the better example.

He did, did he? Hmmm ... I thought the righteous Second Amendment defenders' way was to run in shooting with the biggest gun possible though in order to stop all this mass shooting violence at the schools? Or at least have the teachers be packing the heat right there at their desks?

A job I would not want.

My wife teaches third grade and knows how to shoot. I would bet that the majority of the parents that have their children in her classroom would feel much safer if she was packing a gun in her drawer.

Her school has had a couple of perverts lately trying to pick up little kids after school in their cars. They should also get a ticket out of here. Why, because we know when they do entice little ones into their vehicle the ending is usually not a good one.

On the same subject. Although Churches don't talk about it many nowadays have somebody packing. Better safe than many lives wasted.

Bad hombres that kill people should get a fast ticket to meet their Maker (God).

I'm not the judge, just trying to help them get to the real and final Judge quicker.

Hi M-bob,

No, of course I don't 'support' countries that threaten us. Quite frankly, I don't support any country as far as cheer them on in their endeavors. Countries exist and people live within their borders. Some countries allow a bit more personal freedoms than others and some can be downright ugly in how they treat some of their citizenry. I'm not sure 'support' is the right word for the understanding that you're probably trying to impose upon me. But, be that as it may.

I do understand that a large part of the reason that some nations are at odds with us is because we've adopted this attitude that we're pretty close to trying to make every other nation see us as the ruler of the world in some ways. I don't understand, and you likely find that to be some ignorance on my part, what authority we have to tell other nations that they can't have what we have.

We have the greatest nuclear armament and weaponry in the world. We have production facilities that produce the fissionable materials with which you make these armaments and we have absolutely no problem studying and building and creating these terribly powerful and deadly weapons. We have no problem updating any facility that we'd like to, to make new and better such weapons. Yet, let some other nation say, "You know, I think that because this other nation has the ability to say to me, we have the power to blow you off the face of the earth, that I should also develop a reasonable power to combat such a threat."

After all, the leaders of these other nations have the same responsibility to provide for and take care of their people as we do. Now, maybe they don't do it the same way that we do, but then that's what makes all the different governments...different. If we are to all live under the exact same rules, laws and methods, then we would truly be a one world government.

So, here's this bombastic narcissist threatening to blow nations off the face of the map if they don't live under our direction and instruction in such things and I can't imagine that a lot nation leaders don't want to have some sort of counter to living under such a threat.

Now, you're an American and, as most Americans, you think that you're right in most everything that you do. You think of your culture and government and way of life as better and more righteous than other countries might have. However, I'd appreciate it if you'd try for just five minutes to put yourself in the shoes of some person living in Russia or Korea or China or Iran or Brazil and try to see and understand the world as they do.

If you're a citizen of N. Korea or Iran and the president of this huge and powerful nation is threatening to blow you and your family off the face of the globe; using every financial squeeze to make your life miserable, how do you think that person, that human being created in the image and likeness of the same God that you believe created you. feels towards that big and powerful nation that is making their life miserable.

You claim to be a christian. Do you know what God asks of you? He asks you to live at peace with your neighbors as far as it is within your ability. As a believer, you shouldn't be supporting someone threatening to blow hundreds of thousands of people off the face of the globe just to get them to stop trying to get what you've already gotten.

I don't even know what 'pulling an Obama' is.

God bless,
In Christ, ted

Maybe you should talk to the people of N. Korea and Iran about how well that's working out for them, and if they think their leader's responsibility lies with them?

how do you think that person, that human being created in the image and likeness of the same God that you believe created you. feels towards that big and powerful nation that is making their life miserable.
They'd come here on the first thing that smoked, or in some cases, walk a thousand miles.

This isn’t about anyone’s faith, or we wouldn’t be wasting our time in a political forum. You know better than that... it’s about politics, yours included.
